I’m scheduled May 2nd. I am so much more excited than nervous. The nerves haven’t really hit me yet.

I am the same day. Not nervous yet.

Hi Everyone!

I’m new here and have sleeve surgery set for May 20. Anyone else in May?

Thanks!

I'm scheduled for a gastric bypass and hiatal hernia repair on May 16th. I'm glad I joined this forum as it's given me so much insight and knowledge of what to expect and how to deal with it, it's such a releife to read other people's experiences. You know you're let alone! I dont believe any research can give you this much information that is 100% accurate then from the people who have actually experienced it.

Good luck to all who are waiting for their surgery best wishes🙏🙏🙏

Day 1-pre op liquid diet, had naked not sure if this is good option but have not found Protein Powder. I had planned to go to smoothie king but when I got there the are closed for remodeling 😟bought naked smoothie blu monster and Jello but it’s red and told not to eat red stuff. Felt a bit woozie after lunch and had beef broth and will go to bed as soon as I can Bc too much temptation for food plus feel exhausted now😂will report on day 2 tomorrow-maybe some input on what y’all r doing for liquid diet , ty! 😉

My surgery is scheduled for Monday, May 2nd! I'm starting to get nervous.

My previous Nissen Fundoplication (hiatal hernia surgery) has to be revised and hopefully the surgeon will be able to do the gastric sleeve at the same time. If not, it will be a few months before he can do the sleeve. But he thinks he'll be able to do both at the same time.

I've been on my liquid diet since Sunday and it's going well. I've been pleasantly surprised. I was dreading it, but I haven't been as hungry as I expected.

Congrats on your 5/2 date. I'll be here at my desk -- I'll say a prayer for you for uneventful, successful surgery, and a quick recovery.💐

Glad to hear, I’m on day 2 of preop liquid diet, had stomach cramp in the morning and the runs drank grape Gatorade zero that really helped to hydrate -once runs stopped I was a bit weak, had smoothie with Protein and that helped feeling a bit hungry after 5p and kept forgetting I can’t eat solids 😩😂

My pre op diet isnt as bad as I initially thought it would be. I think my surgeon is probably alittle lax on it somewhat. I had a Drs appt with her today and she asked how I was doing on pre op and I said not too bad actually, her reply was do the best as you can. I get hungry thats for sure lol. I have to busy myself to stop thinking about it. Tomorrow I go for my pre op visit/pre admission visit with the anesthesiologist to talk about my surgery on Tues. My nerves are settling in and Im not sure why Im so nervous, this has got to be done to get me in a healthy place. Im doing what most women do right before having a baby, Im nesting LOL. Making sure things are in order, cleaning the house, decluttering lol

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
