My surgery is scheduled for April 19th 2022, I am both a mix of excited and insanely nervous (very much unlike me) That said I am ready for this journey and looking forward to it all in all, not necessarily looking forward to the next month or so , but happy none the less.

Mine is April 11th starting to get nervous !!

Mine too! Emotions are a bit all over the show. I’ve been a hangry witch this week on the liquid diet, i’ve stuck to it pretty well, weight has gone down. Because of Covid here there are NO visitors at the hospital, husband has to drop me at the door and pick me up at the door the following day, so that sucks!

We had similar restrictions in California. I think pre op was the hardest! I had my bypass 4-5-22. The waiting alone..Then you wake up, the nurses control any pain or nausea and you are off to your room where you can wash up, make calls, and wiggle your toes. I was a lil groggy, but really happy. I could not wait to lift my gown and see proof my dream was real! I started walking that night. Before I left the next day I had walked just a tip over a mile doing laps around the floor. I felt like a 🌟! Some laps were 1 time others up to 4.

Wishing you all of the best!!

So True! Walk walk walk! It is really the best way to dissipate the surgical gas that is pumped into the abdominal cavity for the procedure. If you can’t walk then whatever you can tolerate like sitting on edge of bed, transferring to a chair, sit to stands.

Be Well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
