Favorite high protein recipes

Recommended Posts

Looking for some new recipes to try. I am not very picky and eat just about everything. I've found some things on Pinterest, but kind of getting tired of the same things all the time. High Protein recipes would be great. I was never a huge meat eater even before surgery, so the protein part is sometimes a struggle. I do sometimes do the Protein Shakes, but I would prefer not doing them unless I really need that extra protein. I've been doing pretty good getting my protein with the food I eat, but like I said I need some new recipes!

check out "The World According to Eggface" blog. She had weight loss surgery several years ago and loves cooking (she's also very active in the bariatric community - including on the board of the Obesity Action Committee). She's got recipes for all stages on here:

My favorite high Protein meals are Dal/Lentils or black eyed peas.
I don’t make Dal the traditional Indian way but you can easily cook it in a instapot or crockpot, add some onion, tomatoes, garlic powder, salt and pepper, chili powder, or any of your favorite seasoning. Dal aka lentils are super awesome for high protein and taste sooo good!

In my opinion, there's almost always something (or multiple somethings) that can be swapped out in a recipe for something that has more Protein or is healthier.

Swap ground turkey or chicken for beef, add Protein Powder to almost anything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
