Gastric sleeve and loss of taste

Hi i had gastric sleeve and havent been able to taste since surgery

Have you called your program and told them this? I’m just curious, as I feel like my sense of smell and taste has been heightened since surgery. I can’t handle things that are like “fake sweet” anymore—like Protein Shakes, or “sugar free” things.

I agree you should talk to your doctor because my tastes are super heightened also. If it hadn’t been since January I would ask if it was possibly a symptom of covid because it doesn’t sound like any side effect of surgery that I have ever heard about.

Some of my smells and preferences to certain foods based on smell I couldnt stand. I cant taste anything right now. I will need to call my doctor and an ear nose and throat doc on Monday.

Maybe you have covid without the other symptoms.
