I meant I tried stopping the medication.

I am in the last stages of scheduling a revision from sleeve to bypass due to severe GERD. I was sleeved in August 2018, I only lost about 35 with sleeve because the reflux is worse when I have nothing in my stomach, so I pretty much have to eat something every hour. I’ve been on 40 mg pantoprazole twice a day (80mg total), famotidine twice a day, and carafate up to four times a day. It sucks. I am hoping bypass will at least let me knock off a few of the meds. I’d love to get down to two or fewer per day, preferably none.

My sleeve didn’t cause my GERD, the tearing of a new hiatal hernia did. I had one repaired when I had my sleeve done in December 2019 (264lbs) I ended up developing a new hiatal hernia mid March (232lbs).

My surgeon sent me for a barium swallow. So along with the GERD to mid esophagus and the hiatal hernia I also have esophagitis from it.

I'm just waiting on insurance approval for my revision. I honestly loved my sleeve but since the hernia happened I have only lost 10lbs in the last 4 months and am currently sitting at 222lbs.

Some days I find it hard to eat because I feel so nauseous all the time and developed intractable hiccups because of the GERD.

If I could do it again, I’d still have a sleeve.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
