I HAD MY GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY 7/22/2020. I'M KINDA PASS THE REALLY BAD PAIN. IT'S WHEN I DRINK, IT FEELS LIKE IT'S STUCK IN MY CHEST. I ALSO READ SOME OF THE COMMENTS EARLIER, AN IT EXPLAINED WHAT WAS GOING ON. JUST TAKING IT DAY BY DAY. TJ

Just got told my new surgery date will be August 14th. I hope it's not cancelled again because of covid. But here in jax FL it's all kind of crazy now. We will see. Start my low carb diet tomorrow.

I had my surgery on July 28th. Everything went very well but the incision pain is off the charts here in day 2. I know the gas bloating is causing a lot of it and I haven’t been able to get it out. I’ve been walking a ton too.

Anyone have a suggestion to help with this? Mentally I’m doing good but this would go a long way towards my mojo.

Are the pain meds helping? I have my surgery tomorrow!

Yes they are but not when I’m walking. I wouldn’t worry to much on pain because the nurses and doctor do what’s needed to keep you comfortable. Incision pain ya normal but apparently I had more muscle to get in to that caused more pain after.

Oh...my muscle is pretty limited (and kind of soft and squishy LOL) so I won't have that trouble! :)

Good luck! You will do great. One thing I didn’t know is that surgery paralyzes your bladder. This will be only for a few hours or a couple days. If they do a catheter then no issue. If they don’t, it’s so bizarre to want to pee but nothing happens. They will monitor that.

I'm officially post op. The first two days were rough so I ended up staying an extra day at the hospital. Third day and I'm feeling much better. Working on my Water intake and lots of naps.

Two hours until I check in...nervous and excited! I drank my pre-surgery drink and now I’m just waiting to go! Last night I had horrible leg cramps...is that normal?

Leg cramps could be caused by electrolyte imbalance (Potassium and/or magnesium deficiency) related to all of your recent diet changes (liquid-regular-liquid again). Just give a heads up to your surgeon. Good thoughts for a boring surgery coming your way!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
