Loose, elastic waist, shorts to wear with the hospital gown.

They have you up and walking around the hospital the next day and it is really nice not to expose yourself to everyone.

Other things I used: phone/charger (with headphones), toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant and a mini fan.

I just got two hospital gowns. If you wear one backwards it makes an excellent robe and no exposure.

I ended up having surgery twice. Only stayed one night in hospital so I basically only needed a few things.

good luck!

I brought pjs and a robe and didn’t use either because of all the wires. The hospital gown was the most efficient for them to be able to check the incisions and complete my vitals

I was told to not forget medical devices like a c-pap/bi-pap machines or asthma inhalers if you're on them. I go in Monday...ah! I can't believe after six LONG months of prep it's finally here.

The best of luck to you! 😄

You'll do great!

Good luck to you! My orders also say to bring something they will give me at the hospital preop. It’s a device to measure breathing. I have scoliosis and had back surgery as a kid- that thing was the bane of my existence. Hopefully it won’t be as bad this time. I won’t have metal hardware being placed in me.

I took pj's which I put on the evening after surgery, chapstick toothbrush/paste, shampoo/conditioner, undies, socks, cordial, moisturiser, kindle, phone. Hubby had to bring a hole heap more in because I was in for 2 weeks lol

You don’t need to bring all that. I took a bag and out of the 6 things (if I remember it was a portable charger, face wipes. Adult Coloring book and makers, chapstick, hair brush and an extra pair of underwear) only used one; charger for my prone. Slept most of the time I was at the hospital.

Love the adult coloring book idea!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
