True. Though I was drinking carbonated beverages (in the form of sparkling water/Perrier) during weight loss phase with a couple drops of "water enhancers" I carry around in my purse everywhere I go. It was a good thing to nurse when everyone else was drinking/eating.

Everyone's team has different degrees of opinions on carbonated drinks as well, though. My team said to stay away because they felt carbonated drinks where too filling and I wouldn't be able to fill my stomach with actual food if I drank it. Also they said it could cause painful gas.

Again, I told them I was drinking it, and it wasn't causing me issues (in fact I liked the fact that it made me burp, helped clear out gas, LOL), and they were/are cool with it. I still drink it now, LOTS of it.

But again, check with your team and let them know whatever you decide...

Thanks!

Yes I’m designated driver too. I usually order from app menu or just side dish if it has Protein. Many times everyone pays for me to offset gas- don’t mean bodily gas as that is discussed a lot from Bariatric family!

A bottle of gas x would be a nice gesture from your drinking friends *laughing* How far out are you?

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaat???? Seriously?

First time in the years I’ve been at my gym to have this awkward moment *

Total stranger said he could help me lose my midsection. If he thought this was a pickup line, he was dead wrong. I posted about this in the rant section. My husband still thinks it's hilarious.

Surgery was 9/23. I have controlled asthma but just got bronchial asthma. Has to get steroid shot yesterday. My weight from yesterday to today is 4 lbs up! I have never gained before. Hoping it is steroid & will come off when better

Congratulations, you are almost 3-months out. Sorry that you are dealing with asthma issues, Steroids are notorious for weight fluctuations, Right?

Keep plugging away the scale will move. *hugs*

I love that you obviously like spicy eats!

I also love some kick in my food, but I notice that have lost some of my tolerance for heat post op for some reason. Also, if I have too much I now get a bit of indigestion (didn't before :( ).

Has your tolerance changed at all post op? Or did it stay the same?

5 pounds in less than a month. I think my motivation is in a good place.

I had a guy in the gym tell me he could help me lose my midsection. (NOT a compliment) I love to prove people wrong. A bit of anger motivates me. My diet is more disciplined and I changed up my exercise.

My big motivation. New year’s gown.

Please, please, can we see you in it?!?!?!??!

I'm thinking 32g of Miralax may have been overly ambitious this morning...

Let's just say I think I found the secret to the mysterious involving slow downs on the #2 tracks up North. And I'm pretty certain Loch Ness might have also been sighted this morning.

And I'm 2.6lbs down but who's counting. Right?

Actually my tolerance for heat did go down PO. But I wasn't sure if it had to do with wls. It wouldn't seem so from my menu, but trust me I used to drown all my food in Frank's red hot Lol

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
