Thank you daisy7914. Im getting the bypass. Dr has to remove the lapband. He said, probably won’t be able to do the sleeve because of scar tissue

I had mine done 5/9/19. Stood 6’ 2” tall with a clothed weight of 315 pounds and a BMI if 39.5 the day of surgery. I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow (5/15/19). Obviously I’m the same height, but my clothed weight today (5/14/19) is 291 pounds.

So far it has been clear liquids: beef or chicken broth, sugar-free popsicles and jell-o, 50-50 diluted Gatorade, etc but I have to admit: I want to eat some solid food!

I have made it to the losers bench! Surgery went well. I am sore and tired but I have made it. Will go home on Thursday from what I hear. Also the gas is a b$tch. Make sure you walk and stay on top of your meds. I’m waiting for my next set of meds then back to sleep.< /p>

My surgery is 5-16 and I'm kind of worried about blood clots and the gas due to me being in a wheelchair and not being able to walk! Does anyone have any idea what they do for someone in my situation?

Thanks and good luck and good journey to everyone!

If you were to compare the pain to anything, what would it be? I’m trying to mentally prepare myself

For me it wasn’t ACTUALLY painful per se, but it felt like a lot of pressure in my abdomen, right behind my lower sternum. Like I really needed to burp super hard but just couldn’t get it out. It’s a discomfort combination like when you’ve eaten way too much crossed with really needing to burp.

Well well Mrs Gamgee, today is Surgery Eve, and I am so proud of you staying the course. I am excited as if you were my sister, and in one way, you really are, you have been with me through some of my briars and brambles along the way. Now comes your day to shine and I am sure you will. Prayers🙏, best wishes and a Hug from ME on this day÷

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
