Ryster_1979 got a reaction from brittanyatwalsh in First thing you ate when you were cleared for normal foodI just had a sleeve gastrectomy on 5/9/19 and will have my first post-op appointment tomorrow (5/15/19). So far I have been on clear liquid diet of beef and chicken broth and sugar-free popsicles and jell-o cups.
I cant even imagine what I will eat first! Tbh, I’m kind of scared. Does one bite really fill you up? I was 6’ 2” 315 pounds at surgery, with a BMI of 39.5, now I am 6’ 2” 290 pounds.

Ryster_1979 got a reaction from mrblond in First thing you ate when you were cleared for normal foodYesterday marked 1 month (4 weeks and 4 days) post-op. I had a very small piece of tri-tip (similar to brisket, but better IMO) and it was absolutely glorious.

Ryster_1979 reacted to Ruby Hernandez in May 2019 Surgeries ?Hello Everyone! Surgery was a success, and I am feeling fine, but never did I expect for my phone to make me so dizzy after surgery. My voice is so rhaspy and my face is so droopy, anyone else feel the same after surgery? Also, sorry for the inactivity. I’ve just been sleeping and drinking... sleeping and drinking. ? -
I was just put on pureed for a month...and I haven't put much thought into what my first solid meal would be... Think I'm just scared... I don't want to over do it n gain anything back...coz all this pain would be for nothing... Im jus gonna keep it small n simple...

Ryster_1979 got a reaction from Ruby Hernandez in May 2019 Surgeries ?I had mine done 5/9/19. Stood 6’ 2” tall with a clothed weight of 315 pounds and a BMI if 39.5 the day of surgery. I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow (5/15/19). Obviously I’m the same height, but my clothed weight today (5/14/19) is 291 pounds.
So far it has been clear liquids: beef or chicken broth, sugar-free popsicles and jell-o, 50-50 diluted Gatorade, etc but I have to admit: I want to eat some solid food! -
Ryster_1979 got a reaction from daisy7914 in May 2019 Surgeries ?Has anyone else experienced a change in their voice post surgery? I also had a hiatal hernia repair (stomach pushing into diaphragm), but the day after surgery my voice was a little raspy and quiet like a cold, and a week later it is still the same. -
went to a Poke bowl restaurant. Had Tuna, Salmon and the works. I think I want to celebrate my 3rd month Anniversary eating the same thing! :-)

Mine was steak I believe. It was amazing even if I was only able to eat like 3 bites.

Ryster_1979 reacted to CNDC in May 2019 Surgeries ?I have made it to the losers bench! Surgery went well. I am sore and tired but I have made it. Will go home on Thursday from what I hear. Also the gas is a b$tch. Make sure you walk and stay on top of your meds. I’m waiting for my next set of meds then back to sleep. -
