Me too! In December of 2007 I had lapband surgery. Lost over 80 lbs. but two yrs ago it stopped working. Gained back almost all of it :( Had it removed in Sept. Dr told me that is common after 10 yrs. looking forward to, but nervous about sleeve surgery. I’m almost 63 yrs old. Need to do something! I know it won’t be easy but I need to do something!

Jessicaalyssa. My surgery is also on January 7th. I start my Pre-Op diet December 26th. Excite yet little nervous
That’s awesome, we’re surgery siblings! Is your pre-op diet the liquid one? The Bariatrics program that I’m doing doesn’t require the two week liquid pre-op diet, they do require you to eat similar to what you will be eating like when you’re all healed up and I’ve been doing that since April.

My pre-op is all liquid. That’s based on my BMI from my last weigh in

Congrats on your date. It's natural for us to fear the unknown, but it's going to be alright. Just read the board. Plenty of successes. Look at it as a chance to get healthy.

Best of luck. Let us know how you feel after the weight starts dropping off.

Hi everyone! My last pre-op appointment is next week! During my last appointment we go over my pre-op diet and the nurse checks to make sure that I've bought the approved Protein Powder and Vitamins.

Lots of mixed feelings.

I've been having mixed feelings as well - from fear to euphoria to terror to uncertainty to wondering if I'll miss certain foods, to wondering if my husband will hate me b/c we won't be able to eat out for a while or the way we used to...to wondering if I'm strong enough. But then I read these forums and the success stories and I get pumped again@!

You can do it. You will do well. It will do wonders for your health and for YOU want in your life.<3

Mixed feelings here as well! I’m trying not to think about the actual surgery or I may panic. But I’m excited overall.

My pre-op appt is less than a week before my surgery. I won’t know about Vitamins or anything until then. Kinda annoyed because I’m a planner! I know I’ll be on full liquids by day 4 but I want a list so I can have a few things on hand. Oh well, trying to be patient.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
