  1. I know this post is from a couple months ago, but I found it extremely helpful. Sometimes you read peoples stories on here that even after two years they still cant hold down food or barely can eat normally. Which makes you worry a lot about getting the surgery. I am glad to see there are people who have lost the weight and can return to a modified normal diet with some splurges (bar drinking) every now and then,

  3. I greatly appreciate everyone reply to my topic. Everyone's advice has been extremely helpful and I feel it will better me after surgery! Surgery is on Wednesday (Jan 16th) so I am hoping for the best and that the first couple weeks aren't too bad. I will keep updating on my progress/adding any questions I may have. To all others with future surgery dates, I hope all goes well! Again, thank you everyone!

  12. Thanks for the advice, I've been going through this forum so much the last couple of months, but I still feel like I am learning so much! Your stats are amazing! Congrats on reaching your goal. I hope to be as lucky as you!

  14. Very good advice! I haven't bought too much for afterward (other than protein shakes, liquid type items). I was worried that I wouldn't use or buy to much so I figured I'd buy as I go. Your stats are amazing! We are pretty close stat wise. What was your weight loss progress like if you don't mind me asking (month by month wise)? It looks like you reached and exceeded your goal within about 10 months or so! I hope to be that lucky!
  15. I'm definitely a spreadsheet person, so I think I may take your advice and start a spreadsheet to track everything. Thanks!

  17. Thanks for the advice! I think I may have troubles with slowing down to a sipping pace as well due to the fact that I drink so much water during the day now.
  18. Very helpful, thank you! I was wondering about what I'd wear home. I will definitely make sure a nice sports bra is in hand lol
  19. Hello all! I am very excited to say that I am just over a week away from my surgery date of January 16th. I am very excited and feel like I have everything planned out and bought for after my surgery. I was just wondering if anyone could provide any tips or wisdom they had learned the first few weeks after surgery that could be helpful for me. I also would love to hear anything about things you wish you would've known or things that you experienced that people don't talk much about. Thanks in advance! I look forward to hearing from all of you!
  20. Hello All! I was just wondering if anyone here had a boob job prior to having gastric sleeve or any weight loss surgery? I had my boobs done about three years ago. I finally got a surgery date and I am wondering how they will look after I lose the weight. I know they are fake, so I'm hoping the shape or form doesn't go from them, but still a little nervous as I've read some of the forums. I'm wondering if I should start saving in order to have them redone after the weight is gone. Anyone have experience with having fake boobs prior to weight loss surgery and how they turned out after?
  21. My surgery is scheduled for January 9th! Very excited, but still a little nervous!
  22. Hello All! I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with information about the first couple of appointments with the doctors. I am going for my first appointment on January 16th to speak with the doctor, dietician, financial advisor and psychologist. I'm lucky that I get to meet with all of them at once instead of having to go back a bunch of different times! I'm not going to lie I am a little overwhelmed with having to meet all these people, but so excited to start this process. I was hoping someone could share their first appointment story so I could know what to expect and what happens after the initial consultation. Will there be a follow up appointment to schedule the surgery or do tests? When do they schedule your surgery? (If doctor and insurance agree) About how long does the process take from initial consult with all the doctors, dieticians, insurance and psychologist to determining a surgery date? (Also my insurance does not require the 6 month dieting- BCBSIL) I'm just not sure what comes next. Thanks!
  23. Just got a call that there was a cancellation so I am now able to go on Jan 16th! So excited and so nervous! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Congrats! Hope all goes well!
  25. That was really helpful! My first appointment is Jan 30th. Thanks for posting!
