Been thinking about you! Sending huge hugs and thoughts of healing and peace for you. What you're feeling is lovely and maternal and so expected. You're gonna be a rockstar. You're such a vet on this whole thing and your doctor's hands will be blessed!

This thread had me laughing so hard, I was crying! Thing is, my car is being serviced & Iโ€™m in the waiting area. Iโ€™m getting lots of strange looks, what with all the chuckling, snorting, and tear wiping going on!

My surgery was pretty drama-free but I did pass out from low blood sugar once at about four months out. I thought that Tramadol had given me a seizure or that I had had a panic attack, so I was kind of relieved when I figured out why I had fainted.

Yessss! I just spent the last half hour going through this thread and I couldn't stop laughing :D

Im a pretty chill person in general... Ive been told Im too relaxed, even in intense situations. I wonder if this surgery will spark a dramatic moment for me. I just hope its not poop. I've been on the other side of it, having to help friends who accidentally had an accident... pretty crazy lol

Wow this thread is a real gem!
Iโ€™ve laughed for the last 10 minutes. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

I really donโ€™t have much drama, unless you want to call throwing all of your loving family members out of the hospital room about 5 minutes after I got there post-op drama.

You see, the surgery schedule got delayed 4 hours due to computer issues and an emergency surgery and then the bariatric floor was full and I didnโ€™t get to my room til 6pm (my surgery had been originally scheduled for 10am that day).

I was so freaking pissed when I discovered that they had held all 3 of us in the recovery room, keeping us drugged up for several extra hours and still expected us to have our 64 ounces Water drank by morning rounds at 7am.

When I realized what the time on the clock in my room said, I kicked EVERYONE out and was so angry I actually got dressed by myself and started walking and drinking Water ASAP

Lol, I vaguely remember telling hubs and mom that โ€œthey would only be a distractionโ€ and that because of the hospital disorganization I was behind schedule and needed to catch up!

I set the timer on my phone to go off every 45 minutes and I would drink, pee, walk, walk, walk some more, drink, and lie back down. Didnโ€™t sleep a wink the entire night and at one time one of the nurses aides had to follow me around (not difficult as I was moving slow.... but moving) to get me in one place so they could check my blood sugar.

Every time my nurse came in to measure my intake and output, I would ask if I was ahead of or behind the other 2 surgery people from that day and would crack him up when I fist-pumped upon learning I was progressing the fastest. Oh and because Iโ€™m a pharmacist I had down pat the timing of all nausea meds. I was making the poor man rotate through meds every 2 hours so I could walk walk walk and drink drink drink.

I managed to get released by 11am, and yes....... I was first out !

I'm certain that I will have many many many more dramatic moments to come now that my impending RNY conversion surgery is just a few days away but here's the latest:

+Buying personalized engraved name bracelets/necklaces for each of my children (with the correct spelling of their names on them) before surgery not so they can be stylish Kings & Queens of 1995 ๐Ÿ˜‚ but just in case someone thought they were gonna try to abduct my youths, I (or anyone) would know at least one thing they are always wearing... #thankslifetime

+Actively going to the bank just to create a Totten trust to leave my shekels to my children ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜’

I really need to stop Adulting for this week

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I didnโ€™t realise that you were having a revision. Good luck, hope it all goes well and that it solves the reflux issue

Yes I'm still in disbelief and waiting for something to halt the process but so far...

It's going off without a hitch ๐Ÿ˜’

Ok...so keeping my dailyย weight updated on here is getting tedious due to the the daily 0-3ย lbs fluctuations. ย Soooo...I figure I'm just going to update every 1-2 weeks moving forward.

Yeah, I kinda do it when I see a new low. Then it fluctuates up and down up and down until I finally see a new low. Mine went down to 131 on Saturday but is now back to 133, lol. So I won't log it till I see 131 for a second time.

I do my daily weight graph in My Fitness Pal. Much easier and it keeps a cool graph!!

      2. ms.sss

Me too (sort of). I gifted myself a fancy-shmancy smart scale back in January and it wirelessly updates the data to Apple Health in my phone, which in turn automatically updates MFP (among other apps I have). Very hands off on my part. Updating BP was the only manual weight updating I was doing, which has stopped being fun and instead become a job, now that the weight goes up and down so much.

      3. FluffyChix

LOL the joys of maintenance! ;) NOT!

      4. sillykitty

Like @FluffyChix I updated at every new low, consequently I'm now listed as my lowest weight. I should probably update it to where I've been maintaining, which is +3 lbs or so from that weight.

      5. FluffyChix

Nah, keep your low and stay aware of your upper threshold so you don't hit it. :D ;)
