So I am 3 days post-op and feeling a little better this morning than I have. I went to bed last night with a huge headache, but was able to take one TENSION HEADACHE (caffeine + tylenol - my NP said I could take it - as long as it doesn't have asprin in it.) That knocked it right out.

I'm having a little bit of an issue with my eyes focusing on stuff. I don't know how else to explain it, but things seem a little blurry. Is it because of the lack of calories? I don't generally have issues with my eyes (no glasses or anything.) Anyone else experience similar? I managed to get 64 oz of Fluid last night and around 50oz of Protein. I am going to email my NP to see what she says, as I do feel okay right now.

Reading up on it, it may be low blood sugar (not diabetic, but I am insulin resistance.)

I have been having blurriness too I thought it might be from the pain killers.

Oh, it could be! I didn't even think of that. If it gets worse, I'll be worried about it, but I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing it.

Mine was scheduled for the 12th...and it happened. Now I'm focused on trying to do everything just right for the best possible outcomes.

Hi batty! My doctors told me one of my anti nausea patch’s side effects is blurry vision. They told me never to touch the patch without washing my fingers because of it got in my eyes, it would dilate them. Hope that helps!

Yep scopalamine is notorious for just that When it's time to take it off post-surgery, wear Gloves!

Ohhhhh, thank you guys! I do have the anti-nausea patch on! I may have accidentally touched it and then touched my face. Thank you for the reassurance. ❤️

I am starting to feel a little more grumpy. But I think part of it is the fact I'm so limited in what I can or cannot do. I want to clean my house, run my household, and be left alone to my own devices. But I have SO many people here right now.

I also had two bowel movements (TMI, am I right?) today so I think I will keep taking the Miralax, but halve the amount because while it isn't diarrhea, it definitely wasn't solid.

I have had diarrhea starting the day after surgery. My first bout was when I was asleep in my hospital bed (TMI) and then later that day it happened again. GROSS!!!

Are you worried about becoming dehydrated at all?

Yesterday was surgery. Today is going good. Hurting mainly at hernia repair site while having some spasms when I drink. Otherwise I’m walking every 2 hours and feeling more normal every minute. How’s everyone else?

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
