Hi All. Had my surgery Monday morning. Boy was I not prepared for the pain. I’ve been crying my butt of since yesterday. Took a walk to push myself and almost passed out. 😵 just started feeling better out of no where. Can’t keep anything cold down at all. I know it will get better though.
Sorry to hear that! I had my surgery Monday too, how are you feeling today?

@sestewart17 the just let me leave the hospital today so better i guess. Still having issues keeping cold drinks down. Not hungry at all. It’s hard forcing myself to eat when I don’t really want too. Walking has gotten much better. Starting to worry that this surgery wasn’t for me. How was your experience?

I am not too bad I left the hospital yesterday but I was walking a lot the first day and yesterday though I couldn’t pass any gas, only burp. Today has been alittle better in that regard but I still have a lot of pressure in my chest and some shoulder pain. I am not hungry either, they gave me two meals at the hospital yesterday of broth, Isopure, Jello, a popsicle and tea. I had a few bites of broth and was able to finish one isopure. Today I am drinking a Premier Protein, i tried to do jello but that hurt alittle. Also trying to take in my Water I am just going very slow with everything. I know these days of pain will be worth it though!

@sestewart17 I feel a little better knowing it’s not all roses for everyone. I have yet to get down 8oz of Water. Don’t want to become dehydrated that’s what worries me.

All went well. For the most part the pain feels like acid reflux??? Pop cycles help sooth the burning feeling but still there. Protein Shakes is helping too. @TaylorMade4One are you still hungry? I’m kinda getting that way too.

Are you on a PPI yet? Sounds like your sore little tummy,is complaing instead . Stomach acid and gastritis can mimic the hunger sensations Are you getting, your fluids in? The more watered down those sensations are, you might find some relief.

Yes, I'm STARVING!!! Nothing to chew since sunday when I had a salad. Every time I take a sip of liquid in 3-4 seconds after I feel a pain. Not sure if its because the liquid is going around the gas..How in the world will I do this for 14 days??!!!

I’m not starving from my belly it’s all in my head. I haven’t been hungry since surgery (8-6-2018). I miss food but I haven’t felt any kind of hunger actually. Getting liquids down as much as I can.

How do you distinguish between head hunger & true hunger after surgery? Trying to prepare myself mentally for this part.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
