Hello! My surgery is scheduled for July 12. I started the liquid diet today. It’s been a rough day, but staying positive and taking it one day at a time.
You will get through it!! It’s a tough transition! My hardest part was being at work around everyone else who was eating and snacking but I just keep telling myself that this is what I will have to get used to from now on! You’ve got this!! 🌟🌟🌟

Thanks! Yes, the toughest is at work when everyone else is eating around you. Only 13 more days to go...

Hi Dee, July 17 will be here for us fast. My pre-op is 6/28, then begin pre-op food plan July 7. I quit caffeine 3 days ago and it seems hardly worth it to make coffee anymore - so bland without the kick! But it's fun to play in the kitchen and try various concoctions of Protein Shakes, etc. Gave up on soda last January and quit alcohol last month. "It's just temporary," I tell myself!

I'm scheduled July 11 and quit both coffee/caffeine in advance of the official clear liquid diet that starts next week. I had headaches from caffeine withdrawal for half the week, but the worst is over. Definitely not as bad as giving up wine a month ago!

I haven't been told to give up coffee, I still have two or three cups a day. Curious as to the reason for not being able to have it?

I was told avoid caffeine because it can cause acid problems and can dehydrate you, but caffeine free is ok.  I think this is just while your stomach is healing and pre op so you can get the headaches behind you before the surgery?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
