Should I have lost more weight by now? What have others lost at this stage post op?

I was sleeved yesterday, and I gained 6 pounds over night! But, I realize that it's all of the IV fluids they pumped into me overnight.

I don't know how much you weighed pr-op, but generally, the more weight you have to lose, the faster it comes off, initially. Good luck, I'll be following your progress.

I had surgery 2 weeks ago and since I started weighing (about 4 days after surgery), I have lost -- wait for it -- 3 pounds. Maybe 2.5 if we're being technical. I'm supposed to start the puree stage tomorrow and I saw the nutritionist today, who suggested drinking less Water and avoiding bouillon because of the salt. Seriously.

Don't get disheartened my doctor reminded me yesterday everyone's body is different. I couldn't see and feel the difference for over 2 months. Was sleeved early February and as of yesterday I'm down 53 lbs since surgery day. For some that's losing at a snail's pace. I'm no longer diabetic, sleep apnea is getting better, off most of my hypertension medications and no longer having shortness of breath when I walk. Keep the faith and press on my dear. Best of luck with your journey!

Im eye to eye with you. I was a slow shedder also. I lost 8 lbs on my 2 week follow up visit after surgery. I total of 13 lbs starting a week before surgery...Then, I gained back weight when I started pureed foods, had stall for a few week. Literally some friends thought believed I hadn't had yet it. Today marks the 4th week and I lost a few lbs. Also your stomache is still swollen inside. One it heal completely your notice you belly to go down too.

Is there a trader joes around you? They've got a ton of real tasty food and Soups that are low in carbs and salt.

How I wish we had a Trader Joe's! Thank you for the encouragement. It's good to know that others are having the same issues -- not that I would wish those issues on anyone!

True -- all good reminders! And I had a hiatal hernia repaired while I was at it, so I should be thankful for that. I know it will come, but it's bewilderingly slow!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
