  1. Thanks, good to know. I have pretty thick hair, but I don't want to lose any of it.
  2. Well, it seems I'm allergic to Dermabond, as well. The itching is driving me crazy. I've been taking Benadryl at bedtime, but seems I've been scratching in my sleep. Most of the Dermabond has come off of the umbilical incision and it appears to be slightly dehisced. I am going to my first post of appointment tomorrow, so hopefully they can do something. I do not want to deal with an infection. Topical Benedryl helps for a short while, but I'm miserable here!

  8. Does anyone do keto? I find that it really works for me, but the dietition said they do not recommend keto. I'd like to give it a try after I go through all of the post-op phases of the diet. Any experiences will be greatly appreciated.
  9. I too woke up to dermabond, but I am allergic to the ones that disolve. My incisions were so inflamed and one dehisced. I addressed it with my surgeon, so that was her route to go. Thank goodness I'm not allergic to dermabond. I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. Good luck with hitting your goal, you are so close, congratulation!

  11. I bought wonton soup broth from a Chinese restaurant. It is delicious, and I add unflavored chicken bone broth protein powder. It mixes completely, with virtually no flavor. I was sleeved yesterday though, so I don't know how I'll feel a few weeks down the road. Good luck with your recovery.

  13. I was sleeved yesterday, and I gained 6 pounds over night! But, I realize that it's all of the IV fluids they pumped into me overnight. I don't know how much you weighed pr-op, but generally, the more weight you have to lose, the faster it comes off, initially. Good luck, I'll be following your progress.
  14. I am sorry to hear of your fibro problems. but the improvement in your depression symptoms is a big plus. Thanks for your insight.

  16. I hope you are feeling well after your surgery. Mine was yesterday, as well, I am home now and feel pretty good. A little sore, but none of the anticipated post-anesthesia nausea. Good luck and I'll be following your progress.

  25. I’m excited!! I’m June 6th too!! I have lost about 5 so far ? I have four weeks scheduled, but it's open ended. I came back a little too soon from my cholecystectomy, I won't do that again.
  26. I am June 4th, as well. However, my doctor said that I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet. Just do what I've been doing and don't gain weight. I decided to impose a one week, mostly liquid diet. I had a salad yesterday and a scrambled egg today. Same here, nervous, but excited too. I have a history of terrible post anesthesia nausea, so I'm very apprehensive about it. My surgeon is aware and she said that they will use everything in their arsenal to keep the nausea at bay. Good luck to all.

  28. Hi everyone, my surgery is on Monday. I'm excited and nervous, nervous because I get terrible post anesthesia nausea. But, I am wondering if any of you have fibromyalgia and did the surgery have any effect on your symptoms. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  31. I have read that the surgery can increase your fertility. Looks like that might be true. I wish you well with your pregnancy.
  32. I too am June 4th. There seems to be a few of us on the thread. No pre-op liquid diet, she just said to keep doing what I’m doing, (I’ve been steadily losing), and don’t gain any weight. I’m 5’3, 230, BMI 40.7. I’m doing very low carb, so my liver is probably pretty shrunken by now. However, I will probably do liquids my last week. Good luck to all the June sleevers.
  33. Check into bone broth. There are some commercial ones, but you can make your own in a crockpot. It contains collagen and protein. Some don’t taste that great, but you can simmer them with some onion garlic and celery and it’s quite tasty, as well as good for you.
