I don't start my pre-op diet until the 5th. Only one week, but I don't know the details yet. That appointment is the 3rd. Good luck!

My surgery is April 10th I’m from NYC.

Im on day 3 of liquid diet the headache is getting better because Of the lack of caffeine. I lost 6 pounds so far on the liquid diet. I made a Bone Broth that is keeping me alive lol I like hot food not these disgusting Protein Shakes, Jello, and popsicles. Just feeling a bit lightheaded but I’m just gonna stay home and relax.

You wouldn't be normal if you didn't have a few jitters. You're undertaking quite a big step in your life. Dr Weiner likens it to getting married or deciding to have a baby, a major life decision. And you may have weird dreams, I had one where my surgeon sneezed and made my bypass pouch the wrong direction. The night before my youngest son was born I was dreaming about iliac arteries. No I didn't have a c-section, if I had planned one the dream might have made sense. As it was it made nothing logical to me.And my most current before my WLS that I'll be wheeled into the designated area and 1 my surgeon was in a car crash 2 my surgeon has a Migraine Headache 3. my surgeon decided to go to his son's high school graduation instead 4 my surgeon called to say he's no longer in the mood and with each of these scenarios: bottom line- No Surgery for me.None of your worries can be as silly as these. Now stop and think how far down the road to surgery you've already come. Now you trust your surgeon, you should trust the nurses you meet at the hospital. If they weren't caring compassionate people they wouldn't last very long in that profession. Surgeries these days are oodles safer than they were a short time ago. You don't want anything bad to happen, guess what? They don't want bad things happening and they will make sure they don't. Anesthesia these days is so smooth, easy on you and nothing to dread. I had my tonsils out with ether, I was only 5 years old but I still remember being so sick. They brought me ice cream and it came right back up, barely got warm in my tummy. That's how,it was in the Bad Old Days of the 1950s. So relax, kick back a little and remember all the reasons you sought out this surgery. Everybody has their own , some of mine and yours might be the same. But I bet you they all won't duplicate. I realized for myself a fairly simple one
Life without surgery- no real future-eventual death
Life with surgery- hope for a better and longer lifespan. It will take commitment, it will take time, and it won't be easy. But I am going to make this chance at life a good one. I'm sorry I rambled on so long but it is something I'm passionate about. You will be a success and I pray I will be also![emoji12]

I'm April 10th as well, I am on day 4 of liquid diet and feeling pretty rough. I had my endoscopy last week, I am not sure if it is the endoscopy or the diet, but dealing with a good bit of heart burn. I am prone to anxiety/panic attacks which haven't been too bad. Very light headed, at the end of the day I am super tired. Definitely feeling this right now, pretty grumpy and not very sharp mentally. I am on a Premier Protein/Greek Yogurt diet, no solids. (About 800 Calories, 120g of Protein and less than 50g of carbs, sugar free, caffiene free, etc) I add some Bone Broth or broth just to have something hot every now and then, just tried that yesterday and was nice. Grabbed some sugar free Jello, but not really craving sweet as the Premiers are pretty sweet themselves.

I can say I am just hungry, not really craving anything in particular. I watch the clock like a hawk for when I can intake next amount of calories. I was pretty nervous about the surgery, but now that it is getting closer, focusing on soldiering through this diet, which on day 4 seems monumental to have 10 more days of it, especially with Easter weekend coming up. I sit and have my shake with my family for dinner, that hasn't been too bad as far as craving.

But definitely struggling during the work day and by the end of the day pretty wiped out. I really hadn't joined any of the support groups or this forum until today, I thought I could just power through on my own. But reading things here has been very helpful.

My surgery date is set for April 10th,... Day 4 of my pre-op diet. Thankfully, along with the liquid diet, I am able to have one meal with 4oz Protein and 3 servings of non-starchy vegetables. It really helps to break it up. It is interesting how much the pre-op diet differs between doctors. I wish you all the best!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
