I just joined the forum...had my surgery early on Monday the 2nd. Things seem to be going well. They had me up walking shortly after moving into my room. I did experience a bit of nausea occasionally, particularly when walking. I didn't throw up, just felt queasy. You definitely do feel bloated afterwards but now I'm 2 days post-surgery and that seems to be slowly disapating. The most difficult thing for me so far has been getting my 64 oz of Water (clear liquids) down. I didn't realize sipping would be so tough. I have a small burp most each time I drink.

Good news is that I haven't had to take any pain pills. I do have some pain at my incisions but as long as I'm careful getting up from a chair or blowing my nose it's bearable. Doc has me on omeprazole (prilosec) for 90 days to reduce stomach acid and I begin my Vitamins next Monday. I'm using Bariatric Advantage vitamins and Bariatric advantage calcium citrate Chewy Bites. For my 2 week prep diet I used nectar brand whey protien isolate in chocolate, fuzzy navel, and strawberry kiwi. For me, the chocolate is by far the best tasting of the 3.

I better go so I can start sipping...good luck and God bless!

I’m having my surgery in two days on April 2nd. Very excited but also nervous! The liquid diet was hard for the first three days but after that I felt like it got easier. Good luck to all of you!!

How are you doing?

I have my surgery tomorrow 4/5. I am having lap band conversion and am wondering if I should do it this late in the game. I lost 97 lbs with the lap band in 2009 and have gained 60 lbs back after un-filling it due to gastric issues. I wanted to remove the band and my doctor suggested conversion to the sleeve. It wasn't something I was considering but now I'm doing it because I fear that once the band is removed (because I still have some restriction) that i will regain the last 30 lbs and then some. My heart is already enlarged on one side, hence the lap band placement in 09.

I keep hearing people tell me your not that fat. Cant you lose 60 lbs on your own? Do you really want to do this? Is it really worth it? All this just to be skinny?

What they don't know is all the things that disappeared after I lost the weight with the band are back. My high Blood Pressure is back, My sleep apnea is back, My diabetes is back, and my cholesterol is high again.

I am doing this for my health, not my vanity. I'm just worried about how its going to feel eating again with this procedure. Can anyone offer some insight 2-6 months post surgery please.

My surgery date is April 12th. Did anyone or has anyone had trouble sticking to the pre-op diet? This e they just recently had surgery be honest did you stick to it 100%. It difficult especially when you go from what you were eating to suddenly strict eating.

I just had my surgery on the 3rd. Out of 2 weeks on that diet, I adhered maybe 5 days. It was horrible, but the last 5 days, I made myself stick as much as possible.

I am doing great! Had the VSG on 4/4. No nausea and minimal pain managed with Tylenol. My doctor says that I have to wait for a week before I can drive. I have not heard that before. Does anyone else have a drive restriction?

Started the day in surgery prep with a power outage, so surgery was delayed an hour. After surgery(thank goodness) there was an earthquake. This goes with my crazy life :o) I’m doing great so far. Surgery was 9 hours ago. I’m taking pain meds and drinking fluids very slowly. I’m also able to walk pretty good. Thanks for your support. We’re all in this together [emoji322]

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
