  3. Same! Do you think this will go away over time? I am even finding that some things may be somewhat tolerable to drink one day but make me nauseous the next day.
  4. Thank you. My doctor made me feel like I am crazy when I told him. I finally switched over to my primary MD for help since my surgeon is blowing everything off.

  6. Yes, I actually am having the opposite effect. I am overly sensitive to smells which is making the nausea worse.

  8. So sorry to hear about your trip to the ER. I haven’t been on this site since my surgery due to a prolonged hospital stay and a trip back to the ER with readmission to the hospital. I was beginning to think I was an outlier. How are you feeling now? I have multiple hematomas in my abdomen since the surgery that they were unable to drain and are causing tons of pain. I am also having trouble keeping liquids down due to the nausea. I keep hoping the pain and nausea will go away.

  15. I’m with you. My surgery is tomorrow and I am starving on clear liquids. I am very nervous about tomorrow.... I have to be at the hospital at o730.

  17. Hi, my surgery is tomorrow. I’m curious about the drainage bulbs people keep mentioning. My surgeon did not say anything about this. Is this something I should expect?

  22. So just had my pre-op appointment. So bummed...he said no to caffeine and adding things like crystal light to water. Also, no sugar free jello, broth, etc. I appreciate all of the suggestions....I was really hoping he would add something besides 3 protein shakes, 64 oz of water and 3 oz cooked protein meat and 1 cup of steamed veggies. I am so hungry. He said the hunger will pass. ?
  23. I see my surgeon tomorrow. I’m going to ask. Do you all have to go to a class before surgery too?

  25. No, I haven’t. Is that ok? Is there a limit on the Amount? I think someone mentioned adding protein to broth. Are there unflavored proteins? Thank you so much for the advice.
  26. Sprinkles1.....i agree 100%. I am starving on this pre op diet. Has anyone given you any advice on what to do? It’s going to be a long 2 weeks. Macpower....I am new to this as well but enjoy connecting with others who are going through this.
  27. So do you think it would hurt to eat cottage cheese or jello instead of 3 oz of meat? Isn’t the goal to shrink our livers for this surgery? I am so new to this and am struggling to get through a 12 hour shift at work on 3 protein shakes, no caffeine and water. I am not eating the small meal until I get home.
  28. Thank you for all of the advice. Today was day 1 of this 2 week diet and dang it is not fun. Please tell me I won’t be this hungry the whole time. ? I am so excited for you....only a few more days until your surgery. Please keep me posted.
  29. Just checking in to see how you are doing?
  30. Interesting. The diets seem a bit different depending on the surgeon. I don’t have a bowel prep that I know of. I guess they could spring that on me at my preop appt on the 4th. I am just supposed to do 2 weeks of 3 protein supplements a day to equal 600 calories and 1 meal of 400 calories max...just 3 oz of lean protein meat and 1 piece of fruit. Plus 64 oz of water and a multivitamin. Are you experiencing hair loss with the restrictive diet?
