I had my sleeve put in 11/6/17 I have lost 32lbs but it seems to be hanging on for life. I am eating approx. 600 calories a day. Taking my supplements. I guess I didn't put it on over night and it's not coming off overnight. Also wish I would have done this year's ago I'm 62 and waisted time with a bad hand for 8 years.

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and you all are doing well! The new year is about to start and what are some of your New Years Resolution?!

I was thinking about my New Years Resolution and I think I would really like to go to the beach, I havent been in years, and I would really like to just feel somewhat comfortable in a bathing suit again.

Have a wonderful day!

Great idea, @BusyMom945!

My New Years Resolutions are:

  • to consume a minimum of 60 grams of protein per day
  • to learn how to sip my water slowly
  • to get to 240 lbs by Feb 28
  • to work out a minimum of 3 times per week at the gym
  • to pay off three of my credit cards by end of 2018

Feeling like I lost a lot of weight very quickly, and now it's a slow crawl. I had my surgery on 11/20--anyone else experience this?

Yes! I was sleeved 11/21 and I lost 29lbs quickly. But for almost two weeks now I haven’t lost a thing. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do. But, so many people on here and in my support group say this is perfectly normal and can last a few weeks and to try not to be discouraged. So, I’m trying, haha, and just working the plan. Hope that helps!

IT SO DOES! Ha! Thank you! I know about stalling, but it's been like... three weeks. Harumph.

We've got this though :)

I stopped losing for 2 weeks about 4 weeks after my rny surgery and then miraculously started to lose weight again. It's pretty normal. These stalls are pretty normal.

This makes me feel better. I lost 30 lbs in the first month and then it slowed down and then stopped for over a week. I hit 6 weeks out this week and just had my first loss in over a week today. I know it’s normal but damn is it frustrating to live through.

Truth,it is frustrating! But we have to remember it's not a race. We will all get there. Best of luck on your weight loss journey[emoji4]

I'm so glad I read this. I'm at 5 weeks and am stuck, too. Now I don't feel so alone. The people that know about my surgery keep asking me "well, how much have you lost now," and I just tell them I'm not weighing right now..... :-)

I had my surgery on the 27th of November as well and I am down a little over 20 lbs and I am stalling right now too, it is very frustrating! Let me know if you start losing weight faster after you incorporate working out. I am only allowed to be walking for now, I am trying to walk everyday but still at a stall.

Same exact thing here, lost 24 pounds quickly, then nothing for 2 weeks. It's comforting to know that it's apparently very common.

I lost a bunch of weight quickly for the first three weeks, then hit the three week stall everyone talks about on this forum. Stayed stalled for a week or two, then the weight loss started again. Now the weight loss is less dramatic if you look at it day by day (0.2 lbs here, 0.6 here, etc) but it helps to look at it week by week. For example I thought last week was pretty slow weight loss wise, but then I looked at my weekly view on MFP and realized I'd actually lost four and a half pounds in a week. I would have killed for that a few months ago!
