  1. I'm in for this. I haven't started yet, so can't contribute much yet. I hope to get started this week. I heard the first week or so is kinda tough coming off carbs, but maybe since I'm just over 5 weeks postop and haven't had much carbs in it won't be so bad.
  2. Wow, Msdooloo that's great! Have you updated your stats recently? They don't seem to match the above pic. Was just wondering how much total you have lost now. Looks like you are at goal.

    November sleevers here

I'm so glad I read this. I'm at 5 weeks and am stuck, too. Now I don't feel so alone. The people that know about my surgery keep asking me "well, how much have you lost now," and I just tell them I'm not weighing right now..... :-)

    No weight loss?

I actually went into hospital to have surgery at 289 pounds. When I got home after the surgery I was back up at 301 pounds; I had to receive a lot of fluids in the hospital and was in for 4 days. For the first 2 weeks for me, it was slow going and I don't think I started losing anything until the 3rd week. I didn't exercise very much (still don't; have to build up to that), but I have lost 32 pounds now at 5 weeks postop. Hang in there. However, if you don't start losing, I would give a shout out to my surgeon's office or nutritionist if you have one.

    Eating after second week

Tomorrow is 5 weeks postop for me. They told me not to start eating normal food until 6 weeks and I have a NUT class on January 3rd. However, I have stopped pureeing my foods and am tolerating it fine. I kind of mash up my veggies and fruits that they allowed me for this 6-week period, not totally pureed, and then chew my chicken or protein like shrimp/fish really good. I have not moved onto beef or nuts, etc., yet.

    Eating after second week

At 2 weeks postop I was allowed to move from liquid diet to pureed foods. I too was able to get down tuna fish (which I did not puree but chewed the heck out of) and then chicken and black beans which I did puree. I think that is standard. Just be sure to not overdo it. I always get a pressure right around my diaphragm when I know I've had enough.

    why do people assume

I just had my sleeve done 11/24/2017. Thought I would respond and let you know some of my circumstances. I was actually supposed to have it done 11/22/17 but unfortunately, when I got to the hospital on my surgery date of 11/22/17, I was in atrial fibrillation with a high heart rate and low blood pressure. People with AFIB also have a danger of blood clots and stroke. I had discontinued my blood thinner 5 days before, in fact. Luckily, I had a bariatric surgeon who was willing to keep me in the hospital and get me out of AFIB, and then I was able to go ahead and have my surgery on Friday, 11/24/17. which I pulled through like a champ. I'm betting you will too. Good Luck!
