  1. Hi there! do you mind me asking how long it took you to lose all your excess weight? I am losing very slowly and I'm a year and a half out. At this rate, it's going to take me another two years to get to my goal weight. I'm trying not to panic about that and just embrace that this is the rate my body wants to lose at.
  2. Has anyone stopped losing weight for a few months and then resumed losing weight? Not sure if I would call what I'm experiencing a stall, but I've been stuck between 224-231 since August. I hope I'm not done losing weight as I still would like to lose another 50 lbs and I'm currently down 86. VSG 11/22/2017.

Sorry to hear that, Walter!! I believe in you and I think that OEA meetings could be extremely beneficial. I'm here to help provide support however I can!

    Stall since August 2018

Hello! Great advice - yes, I've been tracking religiously but honestly have been racking up 1400 cals or more most days. I definitely needed to dial things back to 1200 or less. Also, I'm the same as you - slow loser and never really lost my appetite either!

    Stall since August 2018

Hi there! Thank you so much for your response. A few people advised me to try intermittent fasting, so I'm taking a stab at that while also reducing my overall caloric intake and bumping up my exercise to a few days a week and even multiple times a day. Nothing extreme, just doing a 30 min walk on my lunch break during the day and then a work out at night after work.
  6. Can anyone help me come up with a diet plan? I had my surgery in November 2017 and I've only lost 55 lbs since then. Per my nutritionist's instructions, I'm supposed eat a small meal about 200 calories every 2 hours and eat up to 1400 calories. However lately, I feel totally off the rails and have been overeating. I think I got bored eating the same thing every day for months and months. I track everything I eat but I don't drink enough water. I don't really like protein shakes but I'm wondering if it might be time to try them again. What do you do when you lose control of your eating? How do you get back on board? Thanks in advance for your input and advice!

Coming up with a diet plan

Thanks so much everyone! The plan for now is to increase my exercise, drop my cals down to 1200 or less and do so with intermittent fasting. Will happily report back on my progress. I sincerely appreciate everyone's thoughtful responses!!!

I'm a little behind, forgive me! 14. Biggest NSV So Far - there are so many, but I think being able to go to my hour-long exercise classes and stay through the entire class without stopping halfway through and going home has been huge for me. 15. #TransformationTuesday photo below! 16. January Goals halfway: I've been walking every day on my lunch breaks and drinking at least 50 oz of water a day. I have gone over my calories twice but other than that, I've stayed on track. My only issue is that as I've started doing strength training again, I've gotten hungrier. 17. Today's meals in photos - will post pics later, I didn't meal prep today!

    13. My weekend in pictures Friday was very active! Went out for a drink with my friend and we took a nice long walk afterwards. Saturday was game night with friends and afterwards, I watched my boyfriend eat apple pie a la mode while I sipped on decaf coffee and exercised restraint. Sunday I earned my marathon badge on Fitbit after only having it for a week. I've walked 26 miles this week. Not too shabby! I've also lost 3.5 lbs! Marathon

#9 How I'm Keeping On Plan: Track what I'm eating every day, being careful to stay under 1300 calories. Walk for 20-30 mins every day, even on weekends. It's easier for me to walk on weekdays because we have a small gym at my work. Bring my gym clothes with me to work on Mondays so I can go straight to my strength training class after work. Drinking a minimum of 50 ounces of water every day. Staying on track with my weekend eating, which has the potential to get out of control because my weekends aren't as structured as my weekdays.

My motivation/inspiration: Right now, I just want my FUPA to shrink! Having a hard time thinking of any other motivating factors. Will read some of yours for inspiration. 8. Fitness plan/activity: I've been walking every day for a minimum of 20 mins (I've been exceeding it every day) and making sure I get up and take 250 steps every hour. I bought myself a FitBit on Saturday and I love it!

Hey there, how is your reboot going?
  25. Hi Bariatric Pals, I'm coming up on my one-year-surgiversary (11/22) and I'm already feeling hungry all the time. I wasn't expecting to feel hungry this soon after surgery. I was under the impression I wouldn't feel hungry for YEARS after surgery, but here I am feeling hungry all the time less than a year post-op. It's concerning to me because I haven't lost any weight in the last month and a half and I feel just as hungry as I used to feel before surgery. How do I manage my hunger properly? I know I don't drink enough water and I could probably track my food a bit more. I have been indulging in bad food lately, too. I try to drink protein shakes but I just don't like them. I prefer savory food. Should I start from the beginning and try to just eat 800 cals? Should I go back to the very low calorie diet I had to do for a month before surgery? I've called my nutritionist and asked her for advice but she hasn't really said anything beyond "make sure you're eating enough protein and eating small meals throughout the day." I've even asked her if I should follow the "reset" diet and she doesn't seem to have any preference one way or the other. I eat a small meal or snack with a lot of protein every 2 hours and I get full fast - it still doesn't take much for me to feel full, thank goodness. I just get hungry more often, especially at night before bed. Any advice?
