How long do we have to sip, sip, sip?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was sleeved Thursday morning 8/10/17. I am now on day three. I have no appetite so I am forcing down my shake. I really would know long long it took before you could drink normally without sipping. I know the purpose of sipping but not how long.

It seems to vary. It was a gradual thing for me but by 5 or 6 weeks things were getting much better.

I'm almost 5 months out, and still can't drink like before. Can get 8oz down in a couple minutes, but not chugging.

By week 2, I could take normal sized drinks instead of sips. At 8 weeks, I can do about 8 oz in a few minutes.

Once the swelling goes down, you'll be able to drink more.

So glad to read this! I'm writing down all my drinks and ounces because it's taking me forever and I am lacking! This forum has been extremely helpful.

Week 3 I could take a normal drink. No big gulp just normal. I'm 8 weeks now and can take several swigs at a time. No where near where I was post op. I miss being about to drink an entire litter in a few minutes. For me, Ice cold liquid goes down better than warm.

I also had a problem with this. I've always drank TONS of Water. So little sips were a struggle for me at first. I'm 2.5 years out and guzzle once again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
