Severe abdominal pain when inhaling and rapid heart rate

My VSG was 4-4-17. On or about 6-4, I developed a bad middle back pain. Around the 9th, I noticed severe cramping when I ate or drank. On 6-13, I had blood, x-rays, urine, ultrasound and CAT Scan. All normal, but CT Scan said, "adjacent to the greater curvature of the stomach suture line is inflammation within the mesenteric fat and a focal fluid collection either within the gastric wall or adjacent to it measuring 14mm which could represent an ulcer creator or post operative leak. Since I am not nauseous and no fever present, they sent me home, liquids only with Cipro Antibiotics. For 3 days, I have had about 100 degree fever and pain is still there when inhaling. Scared I may have leak. Not sure what is ahead of me. Lost 45 lbs. And was feeling great until this.

Current status, tomorrow, doc will put me on a feeding tube for 2-3 weeks. Then will scan again. I hope this does the trick!

Got feeding tube yesterday. It is inserted into my upper arm. Tube goes from my arm, across my chest and down by my heart. It was not bad and they were very thorough showing me how to care for it. TPN is 1520 Cal's. I am thirsty, but cannot drink. I will take this day by day with God's guidance.

Checking in, how are things going?

Hello All. Well, I have been on the TPN feeding tube now for 2 weeks. It is going fine. Still have tightness feeling in my stomach. Doc watching me close. Lots of blood tests and blood culture yesterday. So far, so good. Next week, I will get CT with contrast and see if it is healing. If it is, I will be on TPN another week and add liquids. If not, then stent is up for consideration. I am praying that it is healed. Anyone else out there with similar story?

Well today I got an upper GI and it is confirmed, I have a leak. Not sure what my options are but I really don't want a stent. Have not been able to eat or drink in 23 days. I am really getting to my wits end.

Oh man :( {Hugs} I can't imagine what you must be going through. Do you have family around?

So glad they've at least figured it out, though...

I'm so sorry for you. I bet you're at your wits end. Did they not tell you what your options were? Ugh, just no words. Hope they fix this fast. :(

Praying the doctor finds the best way to heal your stomach quickly, and for strength for you to get through this.

I just found this thread.. @Goggyween, I am really sorry you are going through this! I don't really know much about management of a leak other than stent placements. Have you discussed other options with your doc?

Please stay strong. You are in my thoughts.
