Being too sensitive or not?

Recommended Posts

My doctor said that often we'll look sunken immediately after weight loss -- it's part of the process -- and that it'll slowly fade just a bit to settle into something that looks healthier. For now, ignore the haters (and to me, you look more than fine!!)

I agree with deactivatedfatgal... you look great! Don't let others bring you down. Especially since some of it could be from there own insecurities an them being intimidated by your weight loss an beauty that leads them to try and pick at you to feel better.

honestly! you were pretty adorable in the first picture. The second is better because you look happier, like more engaged with the picture and whoever is taking it.

As for your family, sounds like mindless lashing out because you're succeeding where they failed. They don't mean to be discouraging -- at least not most of them consciously. Ignore it and breeze on.

I work for the DoD and we have small stores in our buildings that are run by the Council for the Blind. Now, only one of the stores is run by someone blind. All the others are run by individuals that are almost blind. Well, I was told by one of the guys that I look sickly, sunken face and that I need to gain weight. This was about a month after WLS. I was like WOW!

First thing first....you look GORGEOUS! As long as you're happy, that's the only thing that matters. We don't live our lives to make other people happy. Stay fab, dahling!

It's a mind game. This is normal for people who are used to seeing you at a larger size to think your face looks too thin. Someone who just met you will not see you that way.

This is true. I have a friend who had the bypass and i felt she looked ill compared to what i was used to seeing. But after awhile I adjusted to the new and so much more happier her. Like stated above... people who don't know you won't see it that way. You look fabulous.

Wow you are such a lovely lady. Your face looks perfectly in proportion to your body. Maybe a non confrontational way to address the rude comments is "I feel good about my choices & my journey, and I need positivity & support from those around me"

You look stunning! Sorry 'bout the naysayers (especially since they're close to you). You seriously look great though. Give them time and they'll come around.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
