10 weeks post, haven't lost anything in 4 weeks

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am 10 weeks post ( and it's been tough) I have lost 24 pounds. The first 20 with in the first 4 weeks. But the last four weeks I have lost nothing! I go to the gym about 4-6 times a week. I do 40-50 minutes of cardio then some weights and ab workouts. It's very discouraging and makes me want to eat that burrito or cheese burger even more seeing no progress. Any suggestions? I get 60+ Protein and usually meet my liquid intake.

Thats disheartening... Have you been tracking your inches lost... You may not see numbers on the scale but is there any inches lost, how are your clothes fitting?

My clothes are fitting a little looser and believe inches have been lost (haven't kept track). But not loose enough for me to purchase new clothes. When I first started my journey i was ready to bunnies clothes this far out, but seems I'll need to wait a little longer.

You weight training... A fabulous thing, but it will cause you to gain muscle... And you could be in a stall, i know you want to see more numbers on the scale, your excited to see the changes... But keep at it, maybe up your Protein you will see some changes, i figure mass is more important then weight.

How many calories and carbs are you taking in each day? It seems very unusual to not lose anything for 4 weeks at this stage of the game. I'd recommend having a conversation with your team about it.

Since you are working out so much, you need to go up on your Protein intake to close to 100 grams a day. That should help you drop the weight as well as being SURE to get over your 64 ounces of liquids a day.... you need to increase there too.

Also, don't know if you are tracking carbs or not, but myfitnesspal is a wonderful tool for tracking carbs, calories, protein, etc.

It could be that your carb intake is too high and that can always contribute to why you aren't losing.

In addition, if you are exercising a lot, you may need to increase your caloric intake. You may actually be not eating enough.

I'm right there with you. But I'm 20 weeks out with similar numbers 212 start current 178 and 142 goal. But I know I've lost some inches in my now 8 weeks stall. ( I say stall I loose it comes back yadda yadda) But I was warned at these numbers slow and steady wins the race. Also I did benefit from some extra calories and Protein. I'm told the muscle weight I'm adding will make all the difference in how my body looks eventually. Just consult your NUT and never give up that work out routine. Hope to hear it has all paid off for you soon. Cheers to beach bodies in the near future.

There is no way that at the 10 weeks you can eat enough to support an hour of cardio 6 times a week. If you took a week off the gym or just switched to weights only you would probably start losing.

You need your calories in 1000 to 1200 a day at least for that. Like someone else said you need 100 grams or more of proteinew a day.

You didn't mention what your carb intake is at all...

You will do just fine it's not a quick fix for those less than 250 from what I've seen. I do the same thing off and on. Keep up the muscle gains it will burn that fat, and track on MyFitnessPal... take photos of what you are eating so you don't forget to add it to your diary and evaluate that at the end of the day both photo and diary see what you can change. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
