upset and feeling disappointed

in 9 post op days I lost 14lbs now I'm post op day 18 and have only lost 1 pound in 9 days. They advanced me to pureed/soft and now almost wanting you go back to full liquids to continue the nice weight loss. Has this happened to any other sleevers??? My surgery was Jan 30th.

just worries me that it's not gonna come off and I won't reach my goal!

give it time....your body has to adjust to the major changes it just went and is going through.

Search "three week stall." It happens to everyone. Just stick with your plan and the weight will come off in its own time.

This journey is a marathon, not a sprint!

I'm 7 weeks post op and I've not lost a single ounce in 14 days! Nothing! It says 225.0 every stinkin day and it is frustrating. This is my longest stall.
My first stall was at 2-3 weeks. That lasted about 10 days. I know it will eventually come off but it can be so frustrating. I have been losing inches though! My clothes are fitting looser so maybe search for non-scale victories! Hang in there though and don't lose hope, we will get through this!

It happened to me, too. Don't fall at the first hurtle!! Keep pushing!

Stalling is normal in weightloss so is gaining before dropping. It is not indicative of where you end up. Don't restrict calories or you really will stall. Trust the procedure and the process and follow the plan and you will drop.

Here is my graph for some perspective. Notice how it does not look like a straight line? Lots of bump ups and plateues but it is clear what the overall trend is...

Weightloss for most people is usually slopes and plateaus till a desired point is reached.
I remember being frustrated because of some stalls. I have now accepted that the weight will start coming off more slowly now. Don't read about folks losing 90lbs in 3 months and assume you will have a similar pattern. If you have a meal plan, follow it. The weight will eventually come off. You're obviously stressed and restricting calories will make your body produce more cortisol, and ultimately hold on to current weight for a longer period.

I have noticed that lots of those people that lost significantly more than 10lbs a month also went through complications. BAD complications.

Slow and steady wins the race!

What complications are you talking of?

Things like extended hospitalizations for strictures, severe ulcers, leaks, excessive nausea and vomiting.... basically anything that keeps the patient from eating.

For the most part, things get fixed, life goes on, and ultimately it was just a big bump in the road that resulted in quick losses. Sometimes we hear about the complications, and sometimes we just see the #s, but don't know the WHY.

Oh, wanted to add, 10lbs seems like an average number for healthy loss. Not to say someone with a 30lb a month loss HAS to have had a complicated recovery.

Stalls happen. Just keep on course. Your body is adjusting. It will start falling off again

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
