Did any of you get minimal or no hair shedding/loss?

I did read the rest of your post. Regardless you seem very rude. You could've answered much more respectful and not have treated her like she's a child. The "Newbie" comment for example was beyond uncalled for. But anyways, I don't stand for being rude/mean for no reason.

You have a great day!

Oh you don't stand for it? What are you, the forum police?

I wasn't rude. I gave her an answer, she didn't like my answer, so I explained further.

It is true that there are some indignant noobs on this forum. You're proving that.

Never mind. You'll never lose hair, you won't have loose skin, and you'll never have to diet again.

Is this what you all want to hear?

You said you were done, yet you're back?

It's crazy that you're so ignorant when it comes to this. This surgery isn't black or white. There's still always a grey area, as with anything. And in that great area lies people who have had different experiences from the "99%" that you've spoken to.

No one is saying that NO ONE has loose skin or that NO ONE loses hair but I absolutely asked that people share if they WERE in that number of people who didn't have an issue with their hair (or had a minimal issue, period).

You call "newbs" indignant but the truth is, that's projection. You somehow feel that your alternative facts and research is the be all end all, and if anyone questions that after you've banged your gavel, they're out of line and simply not willing to learn. But as I said earlier, feel free to move around if the "newbs" on this post bother you so much. What you won't do is bully me into believing as you do when all Im asking for are experiences. You gave your opinion already, as you know it. I asked where you got your facts from and you gave an answer that simply doesn't align with what's factual.

What's so hard to get about this?

I'm thankful that there is, apparently, an option to "ignore user" on this forum. Good deal. Moving right along.

It's amazing that instead of trying to have a logical discussion you jump into insulting when things aren't going your way. There's so much more to life then being mean all of the time.

Indeed!! Good luck with your surgery, by the way! I see that your date is coming up soon! Eek! How exciting! :)

My mom had the surgery 2 years ago and she had no Hair loss at all. She did take Biotin and consume a lot of Protein, but I'm not sure if that helped or if she was just lucky. Im only 2 months out so I'm worrying about the same thing. Totally worth it though!

I had the VSG in August of 2015 and began noticing more shedding when I washed and dried my hair that December, but it was minimal enough that I was the only one who noticed. It continued to shed a bit more than typical through February of 2016, and then abated.

I lost far more hair in 2012 due to a John Frieda product (stay away from the Go Blonder spray!) that caused surreal damage, and in 2013 when the antidepressant I briefly took for grief caused weight gain and thinning right at the front of my head. Both times then my less diplomatic friends bluntly asked me why I was losing hair. When I lost hair after the VSG no one commented because it wasn't nearly as apparent.

I am sensitive to Biotin so I never took it. The only Vitamins I was taking at the time were the Garden of Life Vitamin Code for women and Vitamin D. I now take Flinstones with Iron and have not lost any hair. I think the primary reason I lost little hair was that I was losing weight at a much slower pace than many others who've had the VSG. My BMI was low for the surgery (32), and it took me a full year to lose as much weight as some do in four months. I did eventually surpass my goal, though. :)

To add - one change I did make was to stop washing my hair as frequently. I used to wash, dry, and style my hair every day, and that put extra strain on my hair. I wear a shower cap and just wash my hair every third day. I use a little dry Shampoo from Lush to freshen it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
