What part of that plate did you try to eat at 23 days out? And is a Bahama mama a cocktail? I still can't eat rice and I'm over 3 year out. And choosing not to eat Pasta and breaded shrimp keeps me at goal weight. Alcohol would have burned my stomach that early out. Are those things on your plan?

Nothing on that plate is appropriate. You need to follow the plan and listen to your body.

Not all plans are on puréed foods at 23 days out. Mine advanced more quickly than that. That's why I asked the original poster what her plan said. I do agree that there are some foods on that page that are cause for concern.

Wow ????. What is the point of surgery if you are already drinking alcohol and eating things you really shouldnt. Hopefully you dont get a leak or get sick

So usually I get really mad when I see a bunch of judgmental comments when people admit to cheating but this post doesn't even acknowledge there's a problem with this picture. Even the shrimp scampi would have been difficult at 23 days. I had a plain shirt cocktail at a holiday reception at about 8 weeks out and couldn't even eat half a shrimp. I can understand why if out on a date or out with friends who don't know you were sleeved you may feel embarrassed to order something sleeve appropriate (I've been there), but seriously there must have been some other choices. I think as long as you explain you are on a diet people accept that. Say you want to stick to the Soup or appetizers and you are on a low carb diet. Get sauces on the side...

I will caution you against this... no alcohol! You have an infants stomach and you wouldn't give an infant alcohol would you?

You drank while eating? Another huge no no.

If you took the bread off the shrimp, I could see you eating that, shrimp scampi would be ok if you let most of the fat drain off. Same for the shrimp only on the Pasta. No pasta! But even taking those measures, you should only be eating about 5 pieces and that is it! Your stomach is 4-8ozs big and still healing. The nerves haven't healed entirely either yet, so you won't know if you have injured yourself?

You spent a lot of money on this procedure... would be a waste if you continue to eat like the old you. I understand this might have been a "treat" meal... but, please read what we all have said. Find another outlet to "treat" yourself.

At 28 days I was on mechanically soft foods, nothing there I could have had. Heck even now at 18 weeks out the only thing there I may have would be the shrimp scampi, even then I'd have to drain the fat.

OP, that was very irresponsible. You have a big, long staple line and you're asking for a leak or worse.

I can't even eat chicken breast most of the time. Looking at that plate makes my stomach hurt.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
