Did anyone cheat on preop

Recommended Posts

It seems as if it can't be admitted in these groups and forums we are all human and make mistakes. If anyone isn't afraid that has messed up pls post how many days before and with what. No judgement here pls! We all know what we should be doing tx

During my two week pre-op diet (1,000 calorie low fat), I had to attend a wedding. I gave it up that night. I had two drinks (vodka and club), three shrimp from the shrimp cocktail platter during cocktail hour, half of my filet mignon and some of the fancy potatoes and two mini canoli from the dessert table. (This was on Friday, my surgery was on Tuesday). If I it weren't the wedding of a dear friend's son, I wouldn't have splurged (or even gone, but we had RSVP'd before I got my surgery date). But everything was fine. We are human. We are going to slip up. We just need to get right back on track.

Yes, pre op is different than newly post op.

I think when people get the most judgy is when you're 5 days post op and eating pork chops, Swedish Fish, steak etc. Then it's a matter of being concerned someone is going to physically hurt themselves.

I personally could care less if someone "cheats" pre op (as long as it's not going to interfere with the safety of their surgery) and further out post op. They only have themselves to answer to, anyway. Besides, as someone very wise on this forum once said, it's not cheating, it's a CHOICE.

And when you're posting on a public forum, you can't ask people to answer the way you'de like them to so your fee fees don't get hurt.

I wouldn't say I cheated, as The information was given to me on the Monday before my Friday surgery. Because of health issues, many of the things on the "don't" list had already been eradicated from my diet.

Do your best. It helps with a clean surgery which can make for a much easier recovery!

I didn't "cheat" pre-op and I'm human. ;)

Why call it cheating when you are simply making a choice to eat off plan? You're grown, it's your body. It's up to you to treat it how you please.

Seems to me like you want others to talk about it so you feel better about what you did.. But me having something off plan PRE op is a whole lot different than you trying to rip your stomach open by eating chicken breast n salad when it hasn't healed yet and you're still on liquids.. Thats your choice it would scare me

i had a can of tuna for 2 nights on my pre op. frankly my surgeon didn't seem too worried about being 100% on plan. i told him i was nervous about it and he was like, eh.. try your best.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
