Realistic water intake

Recommended Posts

I was able to get in 64 oz after the 3rd day post-op. The first day, I think I got 32oz, and the second day, I got 40 oz. My plan didn't expect 64 oz until Week 4 post-op, but I was able to get a jump on that. (And I did the same with the Protein, too.)

I was able to get 64 oz from day three too but I'm aware many have a much tougher time in recovery as far as pain when drinking :(. Just do what you can and as long as you don't have medication that turns your urine different colors, make sure that it's a light honey color. Dark urine, dizziness... Etc. are big flags of dehydration. Just keep sipping all day.

4wks post op and it getting easier to complete 64oz. Take it one day at a time. Everyone experience is different. I talked to my nutritionist and she explained about how heavy the density of Water is and gave me an alternative like green tea.

I was allowed to count 16 oz of my Protein Drinks towards my Water, so counting that I was making my goal by day 3 or 4. But really I was only getting 48 oz of water in. I gradually was able to do 64 oz of water by the time I started soft foods/puréed during week 3.

64 oz is pretty unrealistic on day 2. i was able to get about 30. By day 4 i was having no trouble and i can now actually gulp Water pretty well (day 17) but i understand that's not common.

just do your best. honestly those first few days they told me Water was more important than Protein.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
