I've had to resort to Fiber gummies, but they work. Good luck!

just continue what you're doing. your system is reeling right about now. AND you likely aren't eating ruffage or veg at this point. it's pretty normal.

i did the clear Fiber powder and mixed it in everything i drank. TMI: my innards didn't work complete normally for about 4 months post op when i finally started eating most foods again! plus i was taking some supplemental Iron which did me in too!!!

if this continues just talk to your bari doc. they have heard it before!

Hello there fellow constipaters.

I am 2.5 months post op and my regular is once per every 7-14 days. I have tried everything and recently the only thing that helps is " Magic Cleanse" a natural colon cleanser. It was to the point and pain of using suppository, lube, gloves etc it was awful. Unfortunately, Constipation is my new normal.

I use the clear fiber each morning mixed in my coffee. I also take a couple stool softeners each day.

Benefiber every day. Every day. And for the emergency now or before you take it an enema. Do it once and you won't forget your fiber!

My plan suggests baby food prunes.

Yeah, so does mine. Hahahahaha. <---- that's the sound of my bowels laughing at baby food prunes ;-)

I bought the Ollie brand fiber gummies at Target last week...the dose is 2 gummies. I urge you to start with ONE gummie. I had a SEVERE 'emergency' at a friend's house about 2 hours after taking 2 of them. I can take one and 2 hours later be in the bathroom...it's like magic!

I am 4 weeks post op and the Constipation is no joke. I am taking miralax every other day, colace 2-3x daily and still need a suppository 1-2x weekly. I also use milk of magnesia every few days. My dr said just keep doing what i am doing amd use suppositories as i need them. She said i can start Fiber at 5 weeks but i may start sooner.

@@RhondaF I can't imagine that something like benefited would not be better than medications daily does he mean start fiber foods or fiber supplements? Obviously listen to your team.

I have had all the options available since one week post op but have only used benefiber since the first extreme need after needing an enema.

I use milk of mag in the morn after my Protein Shake if I haven't gone in a few days but that really only helps me if I take it BEFORE something gets "stuck" then I have to resort to a Fleet enema (cuz it's an emergency at that point!). They do work quickly so be prepared but when you are that uncomfortable, it is a lifesaver.

Yeah, after having no issues with this at all after surgery, I had major Constipation over the last 2 weeks. I only went once last week and that's because I took a dulcolax. Same this week - went 6 days without movement until I took a laxative. But then I remembered that I had run out of Probiotics and had stopped taking them exactly 2 weeks ago. So hopefully that was the culprit. I've started taking them again and have added in a daily colace. If my problems continue I'll check out those fiber gummies!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
