What can I do with...Protein powder?

Recommended Posts

I just made a Breakfast of weight control oatmeal. I mixed in some chocolate pudding Protein powder and PB2 to up the Protein and it was pretty good.

While going through my stash looking for the protein pudding, I realized that I still have a lot of protein puddings, Fruit drinks, powders, Soups, etc.

What are some of your most creative uses for Protein Powder beyond smoothies?

@@Inner Surfer Girl - I add Protein powder to yogurt (1/2 scoop is generally 13-15grams of Protein and about 60 calories to a 13 gram protein and 80 calorie yogurt works out pretty good for about a 1/2c of food.

I have add the flavored French vanilla to plain oatmeal and SF hot cocoa, and the chocolate to coffee.

I did add some French vanilla to gingerbread I made about 2 months ago, no one noticed :D

Where did you get the protein pudding? I tried some from GNC (ick).

I too love my Protein Powder with yogurt. Protein Mug Cake is delicous. You could probably whip up some cottage cheese and protein powder for a thicker consistency add applesauce or fruit on top.

I add 1/2 scoop of vanilla powder to Dannon LIght & Fit Greek Yogurts (strawberry Cheesecake or Key Lime are my favorites). I also add 1/2 scoop of chocolate powder to a sugar free Dark chocolate pudding cup to make my own Protein pudding and it is oh so yummy! A little runny but still tastes good.

Look forward to ideas! Thanks @@Inner Surfer Girl for starting these topics!

I love the Protein "mug" cakes - although it isn't really cake like...more bread pudding like. To me the key to success is starting with the right Protein powder!

I got protein pudding from Bariatric Choice. The brand I like the best is WonderSlim. The other brands I have tried, not so much.

Thanks for the Mug Cake reminder. I even bought some baking soda (?) a while back so I could try it but haven't gotten around to making one. I do use baking soda, right?

I'd swear that I posted a link to some Protein powder recipes from SparkPeople, but it's not here. I'd swear that someone replied with a lament that they were all for sweet things, nothing savory. Am I losing it?

Whatever happened, I'm back because I just got another Spark email with p.p. recipes. It may be a different batch, as a couple of them seem to aspire to savory status.

Can you "cook" Protein powder? Without ruining it I mean? So far I have been wary of mixing it in even Hot drinks... So I've kept it to mixing in cold food items, shakes, smoothies, Cereal (weetabix), yoghurt. Would love a better way to kill the "protein powder after taste through cooking it.

I don't think you can bake with some of them. I know some (like Unjury) are sensitive to high heat.

I mix unsweetened unflavored Protein powder with cooked veggies and hot chicken stock and blend into a Soup in the nutribullet. Delicious!

I used to bake with Protein powder a lot but my oven is really crappy and just bad at baking things in general. I used an unflavoured protein powder. You can replace 1/3 flour (be it whole wheat, coconut, almond, etc) with protein powder. Also I've heard casein protein is better to cook with because it's thicker but I've never actually tried. There are a lot of really great sites with protein powder recipes though I mainly use Pinterest to find ones I want to try.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
