Hi guys. Very new here and to this process. I have a lower BMI and are currently confirming a co-morbidity.

So my question is this-- Are those of you who can exercise before going to? And if so, how much? I'm thinking walks on the treadmill and strength training. Might be good to have your workout ready to once you get cleared.

I have been lifting weights and doing light cardio to get my body out of couch potato mode. I want to be as healthy as I can be on surgery day and prepare myself for an active lifestyle after surgery.

I work out regularly. I joined Orange Theory Fitness a year or so ago...before that I was doing Crossfit. Orange Theory is an hour-long workout led by a coach. It's 1/2 treadmill, 1/2 strength.

I had already been doing zumba 2-3xs a week when I started my liquid pre-op and tried to keep my routine. Not a good combo I last maybe 30 mins. Let your body adjust to the lower calories and go slowly. My 2nd week workout was better and made the whole class.

I started exercising 2 1/2 weeks pre-op. Walking 3 miles every other day and weight training on the other days. I figure best to work on good habits right now, have a routine already in place for post-op, and get as healthy and strong as possible before surgery!

My insurance requires a 6 month exercise log (along with a food log and the medically supervised weight loss visits). My dietician is also an exercise physiologist and she has recommended walking daily for exercise pre-surgery and immediately post-op. I do 30mins-1hour a day, but we are also keeping track of how far I get in that time. When I first started i was walking 0.8 miles in 30 minutes, now I do 1.5 miles in that same amount of time.

I can't wait to do zumba again!!! I'm actually sitting in my pain management doctor's office right now, and hopefully we'll get this pain under control and I can begin to move again! My fist visit with my surgeon is April 7th. I'm praying I will be the exception to the rule as far as wait time goes. Just ready to reclaim my life!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
