Any one around 26 years old? ?

Recommended Posts

I'm having surgery in March, and I can't seem to find any one that is around my age. Everyone at my support group is 40+ so I'd like to talk with someone who will have closer results to what I will have.

How is the loose skin post-op? I am 310 pounds, 5'7" and looking very forward to surgery!

I am 23 years old if you ever would like to talk gastric sleeve/weight loss related things!!

This surgery will change your life! Last night I had a nightmare that I ate a double quarter pounder and gained 35 pounds. In the dream I was noticeably distressed that I could eat the whole thing. I woke up feeling panicked, like I just had a nightmare.

2 months ago, I wouldn't have considered having a dream about burgers as being nightmarish but now I am so happy about my weight loss, I never want it to get ruined! This is only one of the ways my outlook on life has completely changed.

I'm 29 post op 2 weeks. 25 pounds down. I can't say it's been easy but in the end it will be worth it. I'm 5 4 and started at 289.

Good luck on your journey!

I'm 28 and had surgery on the 1st, I'm 5'5 and down to 240 from 255 before my preop diet. I had lost about 70 lbs a couple years ago and had some loose skin but not a ton, during that time I did a lot of weight lifting and moisturized religiously so I think that helped. As soon as I'm allowed I'm going to go back to weight lifting in hopes that it'll help this time around too.

I'm 28 / about to turn 29 and had my sleeve 11/10. I'm 5'10 and lost about 20lbs since surgery....97lbs all together from my HW 340lbs. The first few weeks are def not the easiest but it does get better. I have some loose skin but nothing horrendous. Once I'm fully healed I'll add in more strength training to tone it up. :) good luck!!!!!

hi, I'm 25 years old and I got surgery on July 17 surgery weight was 307 and I'm 5'8" my current weight is 234 I'm down 73 lbs. my skin is a little loose but, it all depends on the elasticity of your skin everyone is different and gets different results. Drink your 64 oz. or more a day and when you get cleared for exercise do lots of weight training. Also look at your mother and grandmother skin do they have loose skin? My doctor said loose skin is also genetic. Good look and hope everything works out for you.

I'm 26 and had my VSG Nov 30 th. Before my preop diet I was 352.2, day of surgery 334, today 327.8! I am 6'2". I have given up alcohol at this point. For me it's not worth the calories and sugar but know others post-sleeve or post-bypass who do drink. You'll have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself and decide.

So I still like to drink how do you guys feel about that lol?

I like to drink as well. Used to drink like a fish. Went to see my nut a couple of weeks ago and asked her about alcohol. She told me I could have hard alcohol mixed with Water or juice but nothing carbonated. Beer is also not allowed.

With that being said however, she told me that I should try to stay away as much as I can and not have it at all for a while if possible. Can't remember what she compared a standard glass of vodka to, but I was shocked at how many calories it had compared to the other thing. Not to mention the calories and sugars in juice. As for beer, it's basically liquid bread so the calorie count is insanely high.

I guess I was comforted by the thought that I could enjoy a drink with my crazy friends every once in a while but I am planning to steer clear for at least another 4 months because I want to maximise on the weight loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
