I started my liquid pre-op diet last Monday. Last week went by pretty well, but this weekend was go go go. I am allowed veggies along with my liquids so I snacked a lot on carrots and broccoli and such this weekend because we were on the road from Friday until late last night. We ended up staying with family overnight on Saturday so I had a little scrambled eggs in the morning for Breakfast as I did not have my Protein. Justified it to myself as I am allowed to have egg drop Soup so I thought one scrambled egg would not be the end of me I sure hope not. Ugh....two more weeks to go until surgery.

I buy the Unjury Protein powder in a container and always have a few packs of Jay Robb whey chocolate protein for on the go times. Yesterday i made my shake in the car i bought milk and got a cup of ice in the cafeteria. I would have never made it to 10pm without that shake. I also eat tapioca 90 cal or applesauce unsweetened when I am not going home i carry one with me in a small cooler bag. I have lost 8lbs so far this is day 10 of preop. Surgery on Monday 10th.

I am in the same boat @BrownEyedTxGirl. All surgeons have different pre op rules I suppose. I have read some pre op patients have lean meat or fish also ... I am jealous lol ^_^ ^_^

The preop diets are so different in both food and time frame. Not sure what the difference is. I can only think my surgeon wants his patients to practice what it will be like for the 2 weeks after surgery so he chooses the full liquids versus having shakes and small meal. I know he and his entire staff went through the 2 week full liquid diet so they would know what his patients go through.

The two weeks after has been more difficult to me. Seems like everyone's posting the dinner pictures on IG or FB. ???????????????? I'm getting my Protein and fluids. I'm sure this will pass soon....ready for purée stage. ????????????

I'm doing pretty good. The liquid phase is a little more difficult than I thought it would be but I'm surviving. ????

Your big day is approaching fast! I hoping and praying for a speedy recovery. ????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
