December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?

Recommended Posts

Ok people, I am 8 days from being sleeved. I am starting to get real nervous! I so want this tool to help me lose weight. By the same token, I am nervous about getting surgery! I have has surgeries before so I know there is always a risk but I have been following my doctor's requirements very closely. I have lost 20 pounds since my surgery was scheduled and still have 8 days. I stopped smoking 12 days ago - YAY!!! I think I am doing well but...

I read all sorts of blogs - this one as well as 3-4 others. Everyone says pretty much the same thing - everything goes just fine, they feel OK afterwards and are up walking. I don't know why I am getting a case of the nerves at this point.

There, I have vented a little. Looking forward to this really I am.

Hey all! Just wanted to update, yesterday was my one week follow up appt with the surgeon, I am currently 9 days post op. I had not stepped on a scale until yesterday, I was advised not to. I was very pleased to see that I am down 13.7lb since the day before surgery!!!! That's almost 14lb in a week! And I am feeling well! Energy slowly coming back, pain has always been minimal, all bodily "functions" functioning and returning to normal, and the liquids aren't even that bad! I love me some chicken and beef broth! It will be nice to eat actual substances again, but even continuing to cook for my family hasn't been too difficult! In fact with a "clear" food head, meaning not hungry or driven by cravings, I have eeven found planning and shopping for food much easier and more cost effective! I'll take it! Let's hope this continues, and I hope soon to start doing some more working out. I can't have a flat booty! Hope everyone else is well! :-)

Hello everyone!

Hope all is well with each and everyone. I am new to this app on my phone, and I feel retarded. I usually use my computer. But anyway, I am here and hopefully I am using it correctly.

I was sleeved on 12-30-15 which at that time I weight in on the 29th before my surgery at 273, went yesterday for my 1week post visit, and I am down to 251 and that is with tights, T-shirt, and underwear. They take 3lbs off for clothing, so you know where that leaves you. It was so amazing to hear my doctor say, wow you look so different over there. Your wasting away. All I could do was lol. I was so glad to know that I am wasting away in a good way because thia has been a challenge. I have never been a heavy person. so to go from 110lbs to 398 is ludicrous.

@leal536... u will do just fine. I got a tiny little bit nervous the morning of surgery. But I was more excited than a child waking up on Christmas morning. Its what you make of your surgery. U go n with a positive attitude, and u will come out with a positive feedback. We all get nervous about surgery. No one I know likes surgery, or want to have it. But if u have too, then u have to.

I was up and walking by 8pm that night. My surgery was for 9:45 and by 10:30 I was out. The only problem was that I was n recovery so long, becuz I kept throwing up and they couldn't get me to stop. So mind you I was in there for 3-4hrs. My husband said I was so coo coo that it was not funny. He sd I sd I wanted to go to the bathroom sat on the bed and fell asleep. Stood up and fell asleep. Its funny now, but lawdddd I can only imagine. I'm down a good bit of weight from the 30th until yesterday. Weight in 273.. now 251.. I have been on liquids. Stomach is the size of the medicine cups u get with cough meds. I have no appetite. I can barely drink a bottle of Water, protein,or even eat sugar free Jello. I went bk to work that Monday after my surgery.. Jan.4

Went bk to working out Saturday past. Walking on treadmill anywhere from 15-30min. At 2.4 speed and incline 3.0 and up to 15.. but I am walking veryyyyyyyy slow.

It's great to see everyone doing so well! I had my first post op visit yesterday. They dr was happy with my results. I'm down 17lbs since surgery (12/28). He said everything is going the way it should. I spoke with the dietician we went over the next few weeks. I'm excited but still nervous I've been working to keep my liquids and Protein up making it some days others coming close. I do find that it is getting easier.

Good luck to those getting sleeved in the coming days!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have had major surgeries before and cannot imagine this being any worse! So, I am trying to give myself pep talks and write in my journal a lot.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
