That's not too bad for two weeks. I am a carb addict. I laughed when my doc asked me if a contributing factor to my weight gain was sweets. (This fat chick doesn't like cake! Haha)

I am a bread and rice girl all the way. I'm thankful he's letting me enjoy them until the morning of the 29th. But oddly have no problem giving it up for good after. He said it's best that I try my best never to allow any carbs back into my diet after surgery other than occasional potatoes or cauliflower. He said he won't restrict me but highly advises against it even in my maintenance phase down the road. I am really ok with Protein and veggies for the rest of my life. Don't like fruit much so no loss there. But I do have a "texture" problem with yogurt, smoothies and pudding so I am a little worried about the pureed stage of post-op. That texture make me want to vomit. I'm praying I can get past the mental problem I have with it so I can make it through that phase ok.

I am so jealous that you aren't nervous. I am holding it together ok right now but know I am gonna really lose it the day before surgery.

Part of me is ready to get it over with so the anxiety can go away and the other wishes I would have given myself more time to prepare mentally.

I'm not afraid of pain or giving up food. I'm afraid of surgery and anesthesia. If I could just make it through that day...I'll be ok.

Post-op I'll be drinking- SF Jello, SF Popsicles, broth and Isopure drinks from GNC (if I can keep any of it down). I've got several brands of unflavored Protein Powder to mix with G2 and Crystal light too.

I think I'll be ok. Just gonna miss my coffee with Splenda the most. I could drink it all day now and never eat.

I've got a bunch of different cream Soups to start on day 4-14. Sadly may skip puréed and just keep drinking soups until I can move onto soft foods at the end of the month

You might have to rethink skipping puréed foods. I tried that and my tummy said NO! I revised my plan and stuck to my surgeon's schedule. I was just able to start soft food with tiny chunks and have tolerated everything I've tried so far this week. We're all different so maybe you can pull it off! Good luck to you!

I only had one "food funeral" and that was about six weeks before my sleeve. I then followed a four week liquid diet and then a one week clear liquid diet. Anyway, I said goodbye to sushi. My husband ate lots more than I did because he knew we wouldn't be hanging out in sushi bars again for a very long time. ????

I suppose you're right. I guess I can't totally skip it cuz the purpose of puréed is to ease into soft foods.

I'm just hoping I can find some that are more like eating really thick Soup instead of like pudding. I'm going to talk to my NUT on Tuesday and see what options I have so that I don't have to completely skip puréed foods. I know if I can just tolerate it all for the 10 days necessary I'll be ok. I'm just so darn picky when it comes to textures and flavors. I even hate smoothies, shakes and yogurts. Yuck!

My husband has been right alongside me like yours trying to enjoy a few faves with me. He is actually determined to try to stick to a similar Protein diet with me post-op. I don't know how he will manage the liquids but I am so happy to have him trying to be my buddy even without a sleeve. I am so proud of how determined he is to be supportive.

How are you feeling? How many weeks since your surgery?

What about really thick soups!

That's what I'm hoping I can do. I'll have to ask my NUT if that's an ok switch for puréed. Sadly my problem is more mind over matter. It's like a mental thing I'll have to conquer and maybe just make sure all my puréed foods are warm and imagine they are thick Soups. Lol

Tiny bites with a baby spoon may make it possible to consume.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
