Some of you may be aware of this already - but I stumbled onto something on the internet - powdered Peanut Butter - they have basically dehydrated it - which takes out most of the oil. People seem to love it and you can add it to anything for flavoring. THE BEST PART 2 TBLS IS ONLY 50 CALS.

I of course haven't tasted it yet - so who knows - I'll let you all know what I think - anyone else tried it?

That powdered Peanut Butter does sound like a good idea. Peanut butter seems the only thing I can put into a Protein Shake to make me drink it. Defeats the purpose if the Protein Drink has 500 calories in it.

Today-

B-yoplait strawberry yogurt

L-leftover zucchini dish from yesterday (you were right luluc-it was better)

D-4 oz meatloaf, .3 cup mashed potatoes, half of cornbread muffin (much needed fill tomorrow)

I have some of the powdered peanut butter. The one I have is called PB2. I bought it from Netrition.com. I love it! I was using full fat peanut butter in my chocolate "Elvis" Protein Shakes (chocolate Protein Powder, 1/2 frozen banana, sf chocolate Syrup, stevia or splenda, and 1 tbs peanut butter). Using the PB2 really cut the calories and tastes exactly the same. I also tried reconstituting it with Water. The peanut butter it makes tastes close enough to the real thing and seemed to be more filling. I highly recommend it!

B- coffee

Protein shake:

1/2 frozen banana, 1tbs defatted peanut powder, sf chocolate Syrup, stevia, chocolate Protein powder

L- 1.5oz roast chicken, 1/6 sm apple-sliced, 1oz brie, 1/3 c. potato salad

.5oz Sunchips

S- 1oz smoked almonds, 2 hard candies

D – Protein shake

Still no veggies today. The unplanned potato salad at lunch derailed me. There was the potato salad and I love potato salad. I couldn’t resist it. I was supposed to eat my chicken, apple, and brie on a 100 cal thin bun. I skipped the bun after having the potato salad. No question the bun has fewer calories and fat than the potato salad had, plus the bun has 5 grams Fiber and 4 grams protein. I had a Protein Shake for dinner and will call it a night. I think I’ll let that shake be the start of the 5 day pouch diet, or at least a 24 hour liquid fast. I definitely need to be reminded how I should be eating!

That's the brand i bought - hope I love it too! Have also been using a Walden Farms chocolate Syrup that cracks me up - sf, ff and actually calorie free (it's made from defatted cocoa powder - tastes like hersheys to me.

what will they think of next!

Hi there - I'm 7 weeks post band and had my first fill yesterday. What I ate yesterday was:

Breakfast: 1/4 cup dried rolled oats made into porridge

with low fat milk

Lunch: Chicken(lean) wrap with lettuce

Dinner: Baked chicken leg - no skin, 1/2 baked kumara, 1

tbspn sweetcorn, cooked carrots 1/4 c - yummy!!

One of the 'golden rules' from my specialist is that you eat 3 times a day - absolutely nothing inbetween, no Snacks - just liquid in between - no calorie or low calorie liquid.

Which site did you purchase your Peanut Butter from? I am having a fill today. I am hoping to get back to doing Protein Drinks. I did better losing when I did, but I had such a difficult time finding a drink I could stomach without loading it full of peanut butter (lots of added calories and fat).

I ordered it through Amazon - but there were several sites that offered that brand and they were all really similar in regards to pricing/shipping - I'm excited to try it - kinda wish I had expedited shipping (not the most patient person )

ok - so I just checked the PB2 (bell plantation) website for grins - and they do have a locator to see where you can get it in your area - guess what - my normal grocery store carries :lol::Dancing_wub::lol:

guess I'll stop there in the morning (definitely glad I didn't pay for fast shipping then - feel a little bad for doing it anyway)

I checked their website too. They don't carry it anywhere close to me. I had checked Amazon too. I really think I will go ahead and order some for myself. I really like Peanut Butter, but I don't like all of the calories.

I also checked and the closest store to me is over 25 miles so I think I will order it on line as well

sounds good

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
