Hi guys. I'm really struggling with the pain. How's everyone else doing?

I'm right there with you! Got home today from the hospital and or getting the meds through the IV is killing me! I'm not having fun with crushing up the pain meds but I have to because of all the pain!

I am having a difficult time with the pain also but I have had no gas pains, yet. Are we supposed to be crushing up our meds? I've just been swallowing them, the doc didn't give me instructions to crush them.

Back home with some pain, but not too bad. Sorry you have a lot of pain!!! Hopefully it will ease off soon. I have had trouble burping. I get nauseous first the burp or heave. That has definitely been the worse part so far.I've always heard the 3rd day is the worst. Maybe we will all be on the way up after tomorrow. ????????????

No pills at all for me! Only had Water and tea since and that's quite painful. Think I'll be trying Soup today. I'm still in the hospital too and it don't look like I'll be going home any time soon????

The pain med I'm taking is Hydrocodine, and the doctor prescribed it in liquid form. That helps. I also bought adult extra strength Tylenol in liquid. They both taste bad, but I'm sure they go down easier than crushed pills. You might ask for a new liquid prescription.

Hi everyone, had my surgery on the morning of the 26th and came home last night. I'm really struggling with the gas pain up in my shoulder. Dr also sent me home with the drain for a week which has been a real challenge. I have a 1 yr old and 5 yr old that come home tomorrow, hope I get some more mobility soon. Trying to drink fluids and get my Protein like its my job. No nausea but definitely uncomfortable going down. Just wanted to join this chat to see it anyone has any tricks for pain or getting liquids down. Hope everyone is feeling well today.

I agree with you! Today has not been easy and it's painful. Just reminding myself why I did this and how happy I'll be in the end. Anyone else having a hard time getting in their protein/liquids? I have been sipping on Isopure all day and I'm only at 20 ounces. I was told if I didn't get in 48 ounces in I would have to go get an IV started.

Today was difficult. I've had 10 oz of Gatorade G2, 10 oz of Isopure, and 2 oz chicken broth. Broth was easiest to drink, the warmth felt good on my stomach. Also nice to get a savory flavor after all the sweet drinks. Trying some Jello now, seems to melt in your mouth and go down easy. Got hiccups today, super painful. Been walking all day trying to beat this gas pain.

I was ok yesterday with the pain - but today it is kicking my butt. I'm sure it is because I don't have an IV with 'happy med" anymore. The oxydone the doctor prescribed is not doing much at all.

Did you stay two nights in the hospital? I'm glad I did because I would have been doing too much if I had come home.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
