vanilla Premier Protein with a sleeve of Decaf via from starbucks. AMAZING! Also, the Unjury chicken broth is not half bad.

Try unflavored Protein powder mixed with cold Water and Water Enhancer drops, to relieve the boredom of shakes. You can find them in the grocery store. Also, keep LOTS of sugar-free popsicles on hand for the crunch/chew you will want to be doing. Good luck and let us know how you do!

You'll be surprised how filled up you can get on Protein Shakes at first. The other recommendation I've got is to try the nectar Whey Isolates from Syntrax. They're a bit pricey, but a WONDERFUL change up from all of the creamy-chalkiness of standard Protein shakes. I liked the fuzzy navel for a while, but it got old and now I'm thoroughly enjoying the lemon iced tea. Haven't tried most of them yet, but have a friend with enough of the apple, and a few others that I'll get to sample soon.

I have tried the Atkins shakes, and in my opinion...yuck. And they don't have a very high Protein content. If your looking for a higher Protein content, Premier has 30g. I prefer unflavored Protein Powder, added to cold Water, mixed with Water Enhancer drops, as you can adjust the sweetness level, and have LOTS of flavor options while getting lots of protein. You can find unflavored Protein Powder by searching Amazon.com. Good luck to you!

I won't have my surgery till June but I've already started trying different shakes. So far, the strawberry sorbet from Unjury is my favorite! Their vanilla blended with milk and a banana is also delicious and I was super surprised at how good the chicken Soup flavor was. My boyfriend was like "you need to get some more of this!" I tried the "Raw" Protein brand, it's gross, save your money. I still have some more samples to try but like I said, the Unjury ones are all fantastic and are 100 calories and 21 grams of protein! Good luck!

Just a hint, your taste buds MAY change their preferences AFTER your surgery. Many of us have had changes in this area. SO, don't buy TOO many until AFTER your surgery, taste them then, then determine if you still like them. Many people have reported getting nauseous from them, so beware spending lots of money PRE-surgery! costco usually carries Premier shakes. Have fun!

My surgery is scheduled for June as well. I have been doing the same thing..."sampling" Protein drinks/shakes etc to see what I like. I'm going to check in to the Fuzzy Navels...sounds like that may be right up my alley. There's only so many types of "chocolate" I'm willing to try! LOL So far I haven't found one that I feel I can handle for two weeks pre-op and beyond!

I believe powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury has broth. You can add the unflavored Protein powder to anything liquid, it may be less expensive, too. Remember, unflavored DOESN'T mean it has no flavor, it tends to have kind of a creamy flavor, not really sweet, but not salty, either. It is just that they do not ADD flavor to it. It works well in coffee (decaf, of course!), cold drinks, Soup, broth, and I put it in cottage cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs - anything wet. Make sure it has enough moisture, or it will clump. It will be cloudy and not very appealing to look at, but it does the job....just use a glass you can't see through!

I still have one week of preop liquids left before surgery. I've been using Amplified Gold whey isolate from GNC in vanilla ice cream flavor. I've been getting a little creative with it and not finding it so bad. Like someone mentioned above, I don't want to spend a lot of money now, because I have no idea what I'll be able to tolerate later.

If I feel like chocolate instead of vanilla, then I just add a tbsp of coco powder in my blender. It's only 15cal and pretty cheap compared to buying a whole jar of chocolate Protein powder. Using sugar free pudding powder can also add some new flavor to an otherwise bland meal. Every morning I make a frapiccino. Same protein powder but a scoop of instant Decaf coffee, some stevia, and a tbsp or 2 of cool whip! This is how I'm managing preop liquid.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
