Calcium-Free Protein

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found or can anyone recommend a Protein Powder or drink that is calcium-free or very very low in Calcium? I work out mostly in the evening and drink a shake or Protein Drink after, but I also take my Iron at night and I was advised by my dr to find a Protein that is calcium-free or incredibly low in calcium, as calcium affects iron absorption. I can't mix calcium and iron within 6 hours of each other, which is nearly impossible if I'm having Protein shakes (that have calcium) 3-4x a day.

Thanks in advance!

your only choice would be a non whey based Protein, which i know nothing about. but they do make hemp Protein, and plant protein etc mixes, vegan mixes would work, but 6 hours?? , that seems a bit long, i take my Vitamin with Iron 1 hour after my morning meal, then 2 hours later i have an chewable Calcium and i have my Protein shake and that is at m nutrition and surgeons schedule,. my numbers are all nice and high. But to each surgeon their own. Everyone's surgeon has different guidelines.

Why don't you just take the Iron in the morning then you could have your Protein Shake after your work out.

Pea Protein, soy isolate, hemp protein will all work.

@cheryl2586 Because I also drink my Protein shakes for Breakfast, so that would mean having to wait 6 hours to do that as well. I don't just drink it when I work out, I kind of start and finish my day with it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
