1 year post op. How much have you lost in 1 year including preop weight loss

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved March 17, 2014. I have lost 100 pounds since my journey started in November 2013. That's 45 pounds pre op and 55 pounds since surgery. I am at a stall. How much have you lost in all? Please share. Am I behind????? I feel like I should have lost more. I still need to lose 55 more pounds. Should I be worried that I haven't met my goal in one year?

Today, it's been exactly 1 year for me, since I began my 6 month supervised diet. I've lost a total of 73 lbs. During the 6 month diet, I lost 23 lbs. I'm aiming to hit my goal weight by early summer. Don't worry too much! Keep going! You can do it! Everyone is different with losing weight. If you feel you need to revamp your eating or exercising, just do it. Sometimes, our bodies just need some change to kick itself back into gear again. You got this!

Today is my one year surgiversary as well. I've lost 135 lbs, but have been at this weight since November. I'm assuming the "honeymoon" phase is over and I'm at a stall. But obviously I'm very happy with my results! I want to lose another 15lbs and if it takes a year to lose it I won't complain. Maintaining is a huge part of this journey.

I was sleeved on May 6, 2014. To date, I am -96 pounds. I have four more pounds to go to hit my original goal, 14 more to be at my final goal ( to give myself some wiggle room). This has been such an amazing journey, but I can't compare my weight loss or my journey to anyone else's. We all have different body types and differences in our lives that influence our rate of weight loss. You should be very proud of how far you have come and your own journey. I am. I feel like I have my life back (even better than before because I realize what I have been missing out on all these years). Enjoy your journey and savor it. I think we can appreciate it even more knowing where we started. Good job & best of luck to you!!

dont measure yourself against anyone else, it will only upset you or them. everyone is different, and thats a fact. youve done great things, if anyone worries about thier weight loss, we all know exactly what we eat and how much we exercise, so everyone knows if we arent doing what we should, or if we are on a slow and steady path to thindom. ( yes i know its not a word)

Thanks for all the encouraging words. I joined a Gym two weeks ago and have started working out with a personal trainer 1 hour a day 5 days per week and since starting my workout I have seen the scale go up 4 pounds. This freaked me out hence the reason for my post. Just wondering how everyone else is doing? I am very proud of the 100 pound loss. I feel amazing. I know that the exercise will help in the long run, I am just fearful that my doctor will be disappointed with my progress. Thanks again for your replies. Keep them coming!!

you should always qualify the Muscle weighs more than fat , by adding, By Volume to it, because otherwise its not really true a pound of muscle is the same as a pound of fat or a pound of feathers, but the same volume of muscle weighs more than fat . I know im nitpicking. lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
