2 1/2 wks out now & had lost 21 lbs at my 2 wk visit. Soft food is a blessing! Haven't found anything that bothers me, but I'm trying to be careful. ret'd to work yesterday & did ok - was tired last night.

Thanks to all the good thoughts & prayers on my brother's death - especially Nomo band. It really helped to know ya'll were there. We were able to bury him in the National Cemetery in Dallas with Military honors. What an amazing facility

Ok, so today is the big day, surgery with Dr. Brebbia this morning at 1130! Scared, nervous, and excited - wish me luck!

On a side note - nervous because I have had terrible post nasal drip from the pollen and I have started coughing. But I am worried they'll turn me away. I did call them to check and I don't have a fever, but still worried.

I was in the same boat day of surgery- the my did mine regardless and even said it was better for me that I was coughing! Hope it went well!

liquids where hard for just a few days. Then I did herbal tea hot that went down well. A few days later tried cold again. And no problems I can't chug but I take a normal drink like before surgery. Think I'm just lucky

I had my surgery on Thursday May 21 with Dr. Eric Sommer at Hudson Valley Hospital. Today I'm 2 days post-op and I'm now beginning to feel some gas pains. I still don't know what my limit is but I seem to tolerate Water and my Protein Shakes pretty well. Just not a lot of either. No nausea thank goodness. And I seem to be able to take the same sips as I did before surgery. How's everyone else doing?

Hi all, i was sleeved may 12, I just wanted to put it out there for people on the thread I didn't take any pain meds after day 2, and actually asked for less while I was in the hospital as I was feeling great. Just wanted to say for anyone worried. I have had 3 natural births so I know pain, but for anyone who may be concerned, that was my experience!

yeah gas pain is probably the most annoying for me to so far, walking does help that. I'm 3 days post today, glad surgery is done with tho huh!? I'm also just doing sips of water, today was my first full day home, it took me about an hour to drink about 5 oz broth sipping of course. Day by day it all gets a little better :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
