Recommended Posts

Hello all

I am scheduled for surgery on May 6th. I am scheduled for pre-op visit with my Doctor in two weeks and final pre-op labs that same day. I am anxious to get this done as it has been a long journey getting to this point. I am having my surgery done at Kaiser South Bay in California. :)

Im also in Cali!!! Yeay!!

I'm scheduled for May 18! I had hoped to have it done in March too, but I got set back when they diagnosed me with sleep apnea. 6 weeks of monitoring that, and now it's only 27 days away (but who's counting!).

I'm so excited, and so are my worn out knees. Ready to do this!

I just did pre op today! First was getting vials and going over medical history and medications with a nurse, then I got an EKG and a couple tubes of blood drawn and then Chest xrays. I also spoke with an anesthesia nurse about preop stuff like no food after midnight and washing with a chlorhexadine scrub the night before. I also signed more papers and got my admission time and directions for surgery day. I had had extensive bloodwork and an EKG done in December, so that was just recheck stuff.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
