Hi all. My stepdaughter just told me about this site. I had my surgery on Monday, Feb. 9. No real problems so far, some nauseous feelings, especially today. I'm tolerating the Protein Shakes well but I do miss chewing. Lol

Welcome!! I have found awesome support and help on this site.

Congratulations on your surgery! I remember you in your preop phase. You will feel better soon. The full feeling is more dramatic in the beginning cause tummy is swelled up but once it's less inflamed a different kind of full feeling will come. Hang in there!!! Best of luck!

Glad to hear from you? I was wondering how you were doing. I have 9 days to go before I have my surgery. I hope I do as well as you!

@@laurenella82 if your post-op evolution follows the average pattern and you get buyer's remorse in the next week or two, don't forget to check in here. It really helped me in the first few weeks post surgery to see that others felt the same way and really understood what I was feeling. I am grateful to the vets that took the time to reassure me (and give me reality checks) and I know you will receive the same support.

@@laurenella82 So glad to hear you are doing fine. Your Dad sounds like my hubs. I am imagining him saying the same thing when I wake up in recovery.....In my mind I can hear my husband say..."you don't look any smaller to me!" lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
