How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
I drink shakes many mornings for breakfast. I find it is an easy way to keep my calories lower.

Perplexed. Surgeon says no such thing as a "stall"
My doctor says stalls happen because the lower your weight goes it gets harder. Mine said to cut out more carbs and hit the gym more. I did that and it helped. I am a slow loser so it has just been 3 lbs since my last visit a few weeks ago.

The Rules: Do you follow them?
Thanks for posting this topic. We are all just human. I follow most pretty well but there are some I do not. I still eat too fast. I love sweets and I can eat them without dumping so it is making it harder to stop. I get in my proteins but I probably eat too many carbs. I use a straw on occasion.

Help, please! Premier Protein shakes taste awful to me.. Need recommendations!
i would cut them with other things. Try mixing the shake with cold coffee. Coffee was the one thing that got that chemical taste out of my mouth. I also blend the vanilla with fruit. A lot of times your taste changes after surgery so maybe it will taste better post op.

In my post op room and struggling bad
Walking around made me feel better. Also try sleeping in a chair rather than the bed.

Well, not really sure how to feel about this
I did not loose much during the pre-op phase. Just focus on you!

Looking Forward to New Life!
Good luck! it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Driving after surgery
I waited about a week. My doctor said as long as I was off the heavy pain killers it would be fine.

What shocks you now that you were able to eat in a sitting?
It the past I would eat several plates at a buffet. We went to one on Thanksgiving and I had one salad plate of food. I could also polish off a whole pint of Ben and Jerrys. Now a little goes a long way.

Sick and tired of explaining myself...
I hate you have to go through that. Maybe your sister could be your voice and tell them not to talk about weight at family events. Another idea is talk to them at a non event. Families can be tough when it comes to weight so I did not even tell mine about it. Keep up your hard work.

Coffeeee
I could have it right away. I know some people may have trouble with drinks of different temperatures. One thing I add to mine is sugar free flavored syrup to make it really yummy.

Feeling sad
Liquids is a tough stage. It will get better when you can eat normal food again.

New to the site and about to start my pre op diet tomorrow!
One thing I did to help was to mix my share with decaffeinated coffee. If you can have it takes the sweetness out of the shake.
