Hang in there! I am 5 months post op, and just got through a 3 week stall. I Cut my calories back to 750, made sure I'm getting the right amount of everything, and avoiding all bad carbs. I'm managed to lose 12 pounds in the last two weeks! Just mix it up, and hang in there!

I stalled from month 3 to month 5 1/2. The way i broke the stall was to increase my calories from 650 to 1000-1200.

I was stalling too. I had slacked off on Protein. Remembering Protein first got the weight moving down again.

I'm a year out and past my initial goal weight I set for myself. I'll tell you my secret:

Don't sweat it!! Your body is in panic mode so don't let your brain be too. Just stick to your plan and ignore the numbers and give your body time to adjust and not panic over every pound. That will win you zero battles. I stalled for a good 2-3 months in the 170s and then in three weeks it all just fell off with no conscious change on my behalf.

So yes, listen to your body, stay calm and relaxed for it, everyone needs to stop trying to force it into something it's not comfortable with. Give it time and patience and your body will respond in its own time.

I am 8 months out. I had a 2 month stall after 5 months. I was beginning to feel that this was it for me, and I would be stuck at the 200 lb mark. Then I got a 24-hour stomach bug during which I couldn't/didn't want to eat anything. The next day when I started eating again, I could definitely feel the restriction that had somehow disappeared. The weight started dropping off again, 2-3 pounds a week. I'm no longer going to be concerned with stalls, my body will just do what it wants and will adjust as needed.

Last night I went to a pot luck dinner, and got a bit grumpy at all the wonderful foods that I could only take a small taste of, but it was just a little annoyance compared to not gaining any of this weight back. I'm happy... and that is something to really be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Hang in there Ry! Keep following your program, tracking your food, and exercising. You will get to where you need to be in time. Your body has been through so much and occasionally has to take some time to reset itself and get used to the newest stage of normal . You can and will do this. You are too strong to fail and worked too hard to get where you are. Love you and keep up the good work!

Can you tell me a little bit of your daily meal plan? Maybe I could get myself off this hump I'm on too. Thanks. My name is Molly too. From Texas. Thanks again. (I also posted a question about morning nausea) not fun :-/.[/quot

I make sure I drink 2 Premier Protein drinks a day. That gives me 60 grams of Protein or I make a drink with almond milk or skim milk using Met-Rx Protein Plus from Trader Joe's. These are my Snacks.

For Breakfast I have oatmeal, an egg or a super smoothie with kale, spinach and an array of fruits. I add a half cup of plain kefir or Greek yogurt, coconut waster, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk and some ice.

Lunch: tuna with onion, bell pepper and low fat mayo or cottage cheese with veggies in it. I eat about 1/2 - 1 cup.

Dinner: A little chicken, fish or meat with salad or veggie.

I find I don't eat much. If we go out to eat I usually just take a little of my husband's meat and order a small salad to go with it. We went to a buffet and I found little cooked food to eat. I couldn't keep what I ate down. So I have no attraction to trying everything.

I find simple healthy food to be the best. A pot of Beans, very chunky homemade Soup, occasionally Pasta, but mostly a little meat or fish and some veggies.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
